I'm saying Liverpool went first, but we were the better team at penalties and saving them.
This bucks the stats somewhat as the team that goes second normally loses.

I’ve always thought that the team that misses first in the shootout usually goes on to win it.

I know we are not the best at this, but this cup gives the top 6 opportunities to blood young ones. Remove that would surely take away opportunities, unless they are willing to gamble on the FA Cup.

Because winning it would mean fuck all if the top teams wearnt in it. Would be as about as meaningful as the Football league trophy or whatever its called now.

There's also a chance UEFA would deem it unworthy of a Europa Cup place for the winners if the top teams either didn't enter or were forced to field weakened teams.
