I’m not sure I agree mate. Humans have capacity to imagine something new I don’t see AI replacing that - I just can’t see AI waking up one day saying I’m going to invent this…. It will be an invaluable tool once the idea has manifested itself

I’m not sure I agree mate. Humans have capacity to imagine something new I don’t see AI replacing that - I just can’t see AI waking up one day saying I’m going to invent this…. It will be an invaluable tool once the idea has manifested itself

It can do this already. Give it a go in GPT4. You can just ask it to invent something that doesn't exist yet and give it some clue as to what you have in mind - like a kitchen gadget, or something for a car or whatever - and it will invent something for you.

What this will be like in 4 or 5 years, god only knows.
