You'll struggle unless you go for an older model 'cos pricing is tightly controlled by Apple. When I bought mine the prices were all the same but I got a two year warranty from John Lewis whereas all the others were one year

Go on to: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.apple.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.apple.co.uk</a>

Go to 'refurbished' iPads.
You will get £110 off a 3rd generation iPad.
They virtually brand new - impossible to tell the
difference and you get the full warranty and
guarantee as a new one.
I got my mate to buy mine via his business so saved
on the VAT as well.
I got. a 3rd generation 16G machine for £265!!!
Certainly worth a look.

I bought a refurbish ipad last November saved a few bob and no problems .

This thread will do, (after a search).

Right, Mrs P wants an iPad for Christmas and i'm going to get it out of the way now. I have seen an iPad 2, 16g for £329, an iPad mini for £269 or a 4th generation retina display, 16g for £399.

What is retina display? Why is it making it that much more expensive and is a 4th generation that much better than an iPad 2?

Retina display just means that the pixel resolution of the screen is so small (huge number of pixels per inch) that you cannot see individual pixels with the naked eye,

The resolution is so good it can beat your retinas.
