Cheating Refs

We've had the odd decision, here and there, as we have also had against us, but never so many massive ones in one game. 3 stonewall penalties and deliberately choosing to ignore the rules of the games with Suarez's second yellow is not just an honest mistake, it's clearly favouring one team. That's before you even get started on the yellow cards, soft freekicks, Skrtels constant shirt pulling and injury time

Come off it mate, the Dzeko pen can't be stone wall. Dezko successfully hurdled the challenge and then threw himself to the floor. Had he just allowed himself to be clattered, then it would doubtless have been given, but he didn't. It could have been given, but I could see why it wasn't and no way was it "stone wall'".

The Skyrtel handball was missed by 40,000 people, including all the City fans. So that's not a stone wall pen either. And the Silva one, was arguably a foul by Silva.

I am not saying none of them were pens, and perhaps we should have had one. But Vinny's manhandling of Suarez in the box went unpunished and could easily have been given.

I have no beef about the refereeing really, other than perhaps not sending Jaws off for diving, But how often do you see that happen? We know it's against the rules, but I can't remember a player getting a red for it.

We lost this because we allowed ourselves to go 2-0 down by playing like complete dicks for the first 35 minutes and then gifting them the winner. The ref didn't help us, but he didn't need to help them, we lost it all on our own.

Well said. All this blaming the red bullshit.
I HATE TWATTRMBERG. But if I take off my blue specs - he was alright today tbh.

We lost for several reasons and none of them really being the ref.
That's complete bollocks.
The ref wasn't thw definitive reason for losing today, but he played a significant part. And if 2 (potentially 3) penalty calls not given isn't a significant enough input to at least be a contributing factor to today's result, then I don't know what is.

Anyone remember our offside goal against the dippers on boxing day?

Swings and roundabouts, they had every right to feel aggrieved in the home tie as we have today with the referees. Blame the players.

First of all. Yes it was called offside when it shouldn't have been. But City had played to the whistle and had stopped playing. So putting the ball in the back of the net when the game has stopped is not a" goal". Who knows what would have happened if an offside had not been given. Maybe a goal, maybe not, maybe a Hart sending off. Nobody knows!

Then we come to Skrtel the Octopuss. The ref should have blown for 3 city penalties as he literally rugby tackled Kompany of 3 other occasions to the Kompany goal. Hence why the Lescot penalty on Suarez wasn''t given because the ref knew he had fecked up.

I am sure there are people reading this with cancer or maybe have relatives or friends who are suffering......very immature and unintelligent post !!

Having said that Clattenburg had no excuse for not sending Suarez of for the dive or the three times he kicked the ball away.

We were cheated out of the league, it's as simple as that. Football needs massive technology assistance for the refs but that won't ever happen because it means they'll have to at least try to be evenhanded.

100% corrupt.

Suck it up you daft ****, it's a fucking game.

Any of you thinking that Twattenburg wasn't biased today need to watch his performances against Chelsea (yes against). He sent off Torres for a suspected dive (was a second bookable offense by the rag player Ironically).

He knows full well the rules of the game, and picks when to enforce them. He sent off a second Chelsea player for diving, when it was in fact a studs-in foul on Torres. (Referring to last season.)

The c*u*nt clearly knows how to give penalties, as he gave the dippers 3 at the swamp. He chose not to, simple as that.

I think our approach in not slating refs or putting pressure on them is biting us on the arse. Again you have Pella's not blaming Clattenburg. Any other team/manager would be ripping into him after tidays performance.
Dont get me wrong, i love he way we act but refs can call decisions against us without fear of us making a fuss and this leads to them often taking the easy option, esp away from home and pandering to the home crowd. I mean look at the yellows we seem yo get. When was the last time the opposition got more yellows than us even in ames we have 70 percent of the ball.

I think Clattenberg reffed the game the way he was told too by the powers from above . they did not want any controversy yesterday at the game but of course he cocked up over Suarez . and now the dive will/is being airbrushed away no mention of it all on BBC this morning .

We KNEW once appointed what would happen.
As Mancini used to say only this .
How he got appointed for this game with all his previous with Liverpool really stinks to high heaven.

Pellegrini is too nice, shit approach, we should have been highlighting referee decisions weeks ago.

Gutted

Do you remember 4 + penalties that Skeletor got away with on Boxing Day ? We deserved to win on Boxing Day but certainly didn't deserve to lose yesterday. As for the guy claiming not a nailed on penner because the fans didn't see it, wow!
It's the referees job to see these things, if not what are they there for? Clattenburgs job was to ensure that the game was played within the laws, obviously not going to get everything right but yesterday he failed to do his job properly even when he clearly saw the incidents, Suarez consistently diving yet he failed to take action.

You need to ask?

He was appointed entirely due to his previous.

As soon as we knew it was Clattenburg, somebody from the club should have come out and picked them ( the FA,any **** ) up on it.Absolutely disgraceful appointment. But we missed a trick by saying nothing.I imagine Mourinho will have something to say when Clattenberg is appointed the ref when they play the dippers.

In the unlikely event, they'll probably send out John Obi Mikel to give his considered opinion. ;-)

I'm not usually one for the whole 'agenda' argument, but the way Clattenburg's performance is being hailed in the media is astonishing.

In the Mail, Graham Poll states that City should have had two penalties and a red card for Suarez, yet he says Clattenburg had a 'very good game overall' and the headline describes him as 'Superb'.

There are only 3 decisions in Poll's article that he thinks Clattenburg got wrong. All of them went against City, yet still he was 'superb'. It's mental.

Karma - they should have got something out of the game earlier i think we can all agree on that

Only if you consider the decisions that went against them on the day and ignore the ones that went against us.

You need to look at it in the round over a number of games

The Silva offside against Southampton was ridiculas, Vinny commented on the Yaya dive.

The Silva offside was ridiculous as was the Villa and Swansea ones against us. Yaya was rightly booked for his dive.

Liverpool have painted that game as one where they were ripped off. Its almost as if it is fact now its been repeated so often.

But several key decisions went against us on the day also. That seems to have been erased from history.
