Ched Evans - serious injury

Seeing as he did time for the original sentence, is he now entitled to compensation for wrongful imprisonment?
Wouldn't be surprised if he went after the accuser too to claim loss of earnings. He comes across as that kind of character.

I quite clearly stated he was not guilty of rape.

Fair enough. I just don't see why his behaviour on the night should be mentioned in the same sentence. Hundreds of thousands of people - male and female - go out on the lash every weekend in the UK and a fair old percentage end up getting up to things that that their partners wouldn't be too happy about.

Sad thing is he'll never shake the stigma. He'll have songs sung at him at matches, he'll have the social justice warriors and people in public still calling him a rapist for the rest of his career.
True. The" no smoke without fire" argument. His best bet might be to try to resurrect his career abroad.

She never accused him, she said she couldnt remember and the CPS pushed on with the trial, they are the ones that should be held accountable if anyone

Agree with this. They and the police are the ones he should go after. No rape was ever reported and I'd be interested to know that if this was some random bloke on the street as opposed to a professional footballer, would it have gotten as far as court?

Because he has just been on trial for rape, so it isnt outrageous to mention that he is not guilty of rape, I didnt pluck it out of thin air to describe the way he behaved.

And still nothing has been done to define what crimes a footballer can commit and then be rehabilitated within the game. There were a lot of celebs, senior police, politicians eager to grandstand about what industries Evans should and should not try and work in after his release. Predictably once the publicity died down none of them did a thing about it.

Chesterfield's top scorer, before the trial anyway.

Loss of earnings will be based on what he was on before the original trial.
