Despite being not guilty of legally sexually assaulting/raping the woman in question he is still a low life of the worst kind to indulge in the behaviour he did. I suspect he'll never be allowed to forget it.
Ennis' comments were specifically related to his guilt regarding rape. She was very outspoken about it and, riding a popularity crest, used her PR muscle to create a position where his employment became untenable. Again, what exactly is she apologising for? Her exact comment was '“I believe being a role model to young people is a huge honour and those in positions of influence in communities should respect the role they play in young people’s lives and set a good example. If Evans was to be re-signed by the club it would completely contradict these beliefs.” So is she supposed to apologise because she didn't wan't Sheffield United to sign him when he was a convicted rapist? Perhaps Evans should first apologise to the paralytic girl he snuck into a hotel to have sex with whilst he was completely sober.
