Ched Evans - serious injury

lots of the moans come from his lack of remorse and therefore a perception that the sentence has not helped him to be re-integrated in to society.

so - if he truly believes in his version of events, despite the findings of the legal system, should he simply bullshit and release a statement saying he is truly sorry yadder yadder, then be allowed to play?

I've employed people who have served time and apart from one of them trying to steal a sink they have all been very good workers. Rehabilitated, keen to try and make amends for their crimes. Did you hear about this? Not in the news? Oh, pity, thought I might get an award.

Ched Evans you have heard of. He was convicted of being a rapist. He served time. He is now out. He wants to go back to work. So let him. Unfortunately, due to his previous job being in the spot light and held up as a position that children look up to he shouldn't go back to being a footballer.

That's twice in the space of a couple of minutes that I have agreed with your posts.

What's wrong with me?

It really is this simple. Not to mention the numerous doubt's about the conviction itself.

Jessica- Ennis has said she would want her name removed from a stand at Brammall Lane if they sign Ched Evans according to Sky News

Personally I think her stance is nothing more than shameless self publicity

Christ all she ever did was win a few medals and nothing to do with football take her name off who gives a shit

If I was Sheffield united chairman today I would say to jessica ennis - ok - it is coming down tomorrow. same to the patrons who have resigned. The lad seems humble, he has made a mistake and has suffered. (some would say quite rightly) I don't want to go into trial details except to say I honestly believe he will one day be acquitted.

He has served his time - he is allowed to say he didn't do it if he doesn't believe he did.

If she wants to take it dow' that's up to here but threatening to in the event of him signing is a disgrace.

I agree with you, I would take her name down tomorrow. The club won't lose out, it's not like she is a sponsor

Bit of an irony here, would he have been but on trial for rape in the first place if he wasn't Ched Evans? Fame brings the focus of society and people who want attention are always waiting on a chance to be seen by association.

It's ridiculous isn't it. If we didn't have social media then I'm sure this whole case wouldn't have the momentum it seems to have had. Some clowns will put their name to anything.

Jessica Ennis can go do one - she is a disgrace for threatening this - as is anyone or any organisation that is threatening Sheffield United - the guy has served his time - in British Law that's the end of it.

She's won more than Ched Evans the convicted rapist and until his conviction I have no doubt she was better known.

I can't believe the abuse people are receiving because they don't like Ched Evans.

I don't think its the disliking of Evans people object to. I think it's more likely that people don't like sponsors, Ennis, threatening a club because the club may/may not make a decision they aren't happy with just(as it appears to me) win some cheap pr points

Getting a bit silly this now. Seems to be ched vs the world which is just wrong seeing as he's done his time. Any job he gets he is going to be critisced for so let him get on with his proffessian.
He has done his time & deserves to go back to his trade, but ffs reading some stuff on here like i feel sorry for the lad, Get a fuckin grip........

I have no idea why Jessica Ennis was even given a fucking stand to start with tbh, she has fuck all to do with Sheffield United, it was just the chairmans pathetic attempt to try and cash in on her Olympic limelight. If this is the way to get her name off the stand, then that would be a lovely silver lining. Baconface may be a ****, but he earnt his name on a stand with what he did for that club, as far as I can tell, Ennis has never done anything for United. Rename it the Sean Bean stand and jobs a good 'un.
