Jessica- Ennis has said she would want her name removed from a stand at Brammall Lane if they sign Ched Evans according to Sky News

Personally I think her stance is nothing more than shameless self publicity

I bet Ched is fucking gutted.
I hope he doesn't pull out.

While i agree it is a sensitive subject. unless he was issued a banning order from the courts to say he cant play again ,he should be allowed to live his life acordingly. many footballers have been in prison & carried on playing some have even killed people .if he cant play football again what job can he do ? or are we happy letting him & his family get benifits for the rest of his life

So much for a Christian society.
The guy have served his time and should be able to earn a living.

The whole saga has the stench of a witch hunt.

Totally agree

It would make more sense for him to play abroad where the tendency for mass hysteria is not quite as great.

Somewhere like Turkey might suit him.

Yes, if we foillowed the word of God and Evans had been stoned to death for his sins there would be none of this should he shouldn't he crap. I prefer a nice bit of Accrington blue myself. It has a good weigh to it.

+1

Served his time and now he is having his own civil liberties infringed... He made it to a topic on Question Time though

Let's be honest if Sheff Utd don't sign him someone else will.

i don't know why this subject has caused so much 'outrage' to be honest.

It was only 6-7 years ago the convicted murderer Lee Hughes was signed by Notts County.

What has changed? You can't say a rapist can't play football again if you already allow murderers in the sport.

Or our very own armed robber Jim Whitley?

People are allowed opinions. If sponsors or individuals don't want to be associated with a company who employ a high profile rapist, that's there prerogative.

It's maybe old fashioned but some people still get a little outraged when blokes go around raping women.

I'm also sure there would be plenty of outrage in places IF a convicted murderer was trying to get back into the game.

Dyke making an arse of himself

I do believe he should be allowed to resume playing football as a career as he has served his time. He has been sent to prison for raping a lady. He is now a free man with stringent probation rules.

I have asked this before to those that believe he shouldn't be allowed to be a footballer but have not got one response at all. Not one.

What job would you be happy Evans doing if he cannot play football to earn his wage?

WHVS worker at Sheffield General?

It'd be interesting to see what all these sponsors and people who have pulled away from the club would say if Evans' potential re trial found him not guilty?

Would they come back and apologise or see their arse?

One quick question, why was there less of a uproar when Marlon King went back to play football after serving his sentence for sexual assault and why was Jessica Ennis fine with having her name on the stand while King played for the Blades but not so regards Evans?
