Chelsea (a) post match thread

Fuck we need to cash in on some of the moaners here someone get BMRTV on the blower, we'd have more views than ArsenalTV fam.

pep has not come up to scratch this season but we have to give him a free pass. next season he will have nowhere to go, he has to perform.

This is how I see it also. He'll get a free pass this season, but from the final whistle against Watford, this fella will be under an incredible amount of pressure to completely rework the squad and have it performing sharpish.

remember when Hughes and mancini were in charge and we had a backbone and will to win. Since pellers and pep we are total piss. No strength or desire.we need to win and it is like we are happy losing only 2 1. This City is not City. Weak as piss

Hughes? I'm not happy with how things are working out but really...

Comparing Conte and Guardiola is ridiculous though, Conte was always going to get better results in the short term. If Guardiolas football was easy to implement then everyone would be playing it, the point of it is how good it is once it's embedded, which takes time (and players capable of doing it, which is what we will get in the summer and continue to get).

Even just having Jesus and Gundogan fit and we'd be a lot better than we are now, let alone having half decent fullbacks.

He had chances to remedy the fullbacks in the summer or to intergrate maffeo into the squad - he did neither. He sold Hart and brought in an appalling replacement, so we now have a poor second choice keeper who can't pass in goal. He brought in a centre half who is still a work in progress. Plus he is unwilling to tweak his approach to make any allowances for these mistakes / decisions - which means we can not defend. Okay Gundogan's injury was unlucky but the other things are his own making. To be classed as a great manager surely you have to be able to coach and train players to play the way you would like - not just buy an all star eleven?

Hopefully next season the players will hit the ground running and yet another season 'of transition' will have been worth it.

I reckon we deserved 8 more points than we have got v top 6 this season. Should have had 4 from che. 3 from spurs 3 from liv. Instead we got 0 1 1.

Title winners get what they deserve plus lucky points they don't deserve. We are miles away just like last season.

Can't even guarantee we will beat hull!

This IS the worst side we have had since 2011
Can say pretty confidently I would back mancinis title side to slap this team around in every way possible 8 games out of 10
Would certainly be backing that side too, with more fight and guts to carry the fans passion and expectation in equal measure

Tonight we rolled over and died, with some impressive passing thrown in to cloud over the abysmal mentality we now have firmly installed

Alas, all we can do is hope we do what we should do, and secure the wins against the lesser sides to secure top 4.

Mancini's team would beat this team to death.

Perform What win the title champs league? I feel the amount of new players we will be bringing in this summer and mainly foreigners be a miracle if we win the league or champs league, be the year later we will win it.

Totally agree. Mancini's title- winning side would destroy tonights team. Yaya in his prime, Silva and Kun with an extra yard to hurt the opposition, Kompany, Zabba and Hart at their best, and NDJ and Barry putting out fires all over the pitch. Our biggest failing in recent history was not backing Mancini in the transfer market and getting him the top quality players he wanted. If we had we would have been Champions for years.

Ah well!!.......

So, we're destined to scrap for top four and probably won't win any silverware.

Trafford Rangers - who can't score and only draw - are right up our arses and with a trophy already in the cabinet.

Great progress.

(And our kits are shit.)

Yep and yes that orange kit is indeed shit.

So could you with that deflection ;) You didn't answer his question.
No blue expected to be fighting for top 4, they expected a title challenge. It's only natural to be disappointed with the way the season has played out.

I think the hierarchy over-estimated his impact. He needs a lot of money to be successful, good job we've got shit loads.

Im disappointed.

I wont allow that to become an hysterical hissy fit though because results might be poor right now, performances for me are not that far away and bar the positions every single one of us has identified as needed sorted.

You wont like this cookster but next year....next year ;-)

If you don't concede you don't lose, so if you can't defend you will win jack schidt. Our full backs are poor, our defensive midfield is exposed on the counter attack and our forward players do not do enough tracking back.
Ok, we missed some guilt edge chances (again) but poor defending is what cost us the game tonight.

This thread sums up what it wrong with City today. A bunch of self-righteous moaning minnies saying its not this its not that. If you knew anything about football you would see that with a few additions in defence and possibly a leader in midfield, we will be unstoppable. We created chances tonight, they were on target, we were just a bit unlucky and could easily have drawn or won that game. FFS just give it a rest and wind your necks in.

Through hear? Hear what? Listen, if you can't take Kompany coming back as a positive(even if we lost) and be happy that Delph handled himself well away at the champions elect then there's not much else we've got to talk about. You asked for positives I gave you mine. Disagree if you like but saying "we lost so they can't have been that good" is opening yourself up for a bit of comeback.
Our defense is shit and they are 2 members of it, I do disagree with you and the sooner they are replaced the better, so go be happy and let others state their opinions of how they see the state of the team

Well we at least tried. chelsea this season is a very difficult puzzle to solve. They've got men behind the ball but with hazard in this form, who I think should be player of the season tinted specs off, it's difficult to catch them off guard. No CL commitment played a big part in their points haul though.

Our season has been plagued by a few months of damp squib keeping, injury to gundogan who was on form, a few suspensions, the anticlimax after Jesus revival only to find he's mortal after all, and KdB being very off colour which I suspect is to do with him being a new dad.

summer can't come any sooner.

KDB needs to realise he has a partner and kick the lazy cow out a bed. Especially when breast feeding.

Well said that man!
