Chelsea(A) - Post Match Thread

See Pep was talking to Christensen at the end the same way he was talking to Sanchez last season.
I wonder...

Class.

How good are sane, jesus and sterling gonna be in a few years time. They still haven't lost a game in which they've started together and they are showing an intelligence and maturity in their game beyond anything you would expect from players 22 and under. The future is really bright with those 3 and de-bruyne/bernardo behind them

15 games unbeaten now, haven't lost a game since the defeat at Stamford Bridge.

I think this could be a season defining game. No top 4 side has dominated another like that in this current era of super coaches.

Stoke
Burnley
West Brom
Arsenal
Leicester
Huddersfield
Southampton
West Ham

That's our next 8 games in the league. We can win all of those and put together a run like Chelsea did last season which puts us in complete control of the league. All our rivals play each other in that spell as well.
In that run Won 12 Drawn 3 For 45 against 7............yet pundits STILL insist our weakness is our defence

A few posts referring to the 1-0 v them in the Mancini season - have to agree, absolute dominance against a real threat today. Hazard can shove his raheem impression up his arse, much preferred the invisible man one he did today

Great performance today, but motd tonight will be poor chelski played European game Wednesday night then tea time Saturday, just like dipper game was all about Sane sending off, no mention of city playing in Europe on a Wednesday then Saturday 3pm away against Watford, we will get no credit

MANE, PLEASE MANE - even the BBC gets this wrong

I am really pissed about this. (My rant fella - not aimed at you) but for FFS

Missed the first half moving a fucking fish tank but wow, what a 2nd 45 from the boys there.

Complete performance and what a goal to win it.

Huge statement sent today.

That was what I was hoping for. A huge huge win sending a clear message to direct rivals. But mark my words: We're not even close fulfilling our potential yet. A day will come where you'll see players unable to even walk out of physical fatigue, still finding a teammate blind, not wasting a pass. That would be one of the indicators...

The goal killed them, eventually they started accepting the inevitable. A rare situation to witness, especially for a mentally strong side such as Chelsea is, playing at home! Lost for words regarding the effort, the work-rate, the determination of City players. As for Kevin, his performance tonight cements his leadership status, I think. In games like this you need guts in order to perform. What a fucking player...

PS. As bizarre as it sounds, I still feel fucking angry about the points we were robbed vs Everton. City deserved to be clearly ahead with 21 fucking points tonight...
PS2. Conte started building his alibi from Wednesday night, 1 day less rest for his team ("don't forget...") and all that shit. I don't remember him highlighting that factor last season when his team (and Liverpool) had the luxury of playing 1 match per week. Which presented a clear advantage for Chelsea. On the other hand, he clearly knows that City's game under Guardiola is much much more demanding in terms of stamina. His team was defending throughout the 90' minutes tonight. A conscious decision of his, an approach he took taking into account tactical as well as fitness aspects. He could have fielded fresher players in Pedro and Willian, for example, it was his choice not to. Not to mention, he was playing against Sane and Stones (4th match in 10 days), and most of the others playing their 3rd game in 7 days. There is no excuse for Antonio and deep down he knows it...

Fantastic performance all round boys. Absolutely outstanding. Pep just given them all a day off. Hope they don’t go to Amsterdam!
