Chelsea away (half price)

Not sure of the reason for the waiting list for the boat. Wonder if this is partly to see what demand is like. Let's say they have sold 200 for this already and 200 apply for a waiting list. Do they hire another boat (having kept back sufficient tickets) or next year do they just keep 400 back for the big games.

I bet sponsors have been all over this game like a rash. The club has its hands tied to a degree with this. What do they do if Etihad ask for 100 tickets? I assume they give them to them.

As per previous London games it wouldn't surprise me to see many non (or new) city fans in our end for this one.

Absolutely they are, so why make the tickets half price so less people benefit. Some who would normally get a ticket have now gone and paid £200 instead of £30, hardly helping out is it. Maybe City would be better discounting every ticket like the scum do as an alternative.

I agree that the Club have made a mess of this. The half price tickets have worked well before but this wasn't the game for it.

I don't blame the people who have snapped up the boat trip. It was just a bit daft of the Club to plaster this "offer" over the website and asking people to join a waiting list!

Disagree everybody that I have spoken to was planning on going to Chelsea this was before they announce the half price tickets. We are talking a range of 7,000 to 13,500 points it was evident there was never going to be enough tickets to go around. The Chelsea game for demand is on par with Barca away last year and Ajax the other year. Every man and his dog was planning on going Chelsea so making it half price didn't make any difference whatsoever just gave an added bonus to those that got a ticket.

I am afraid you are not quite right. Two "friends" we're getting tickets for me for other friends I had promised them to. They got the tickets and then decided to keep them for themselves. Not a massive deal but they were definitely not going before the half price deal!

thats poor.

Pissed off with this one. We were waiting until a fourth person could apply and they'd sold out. Bollocks.
Will apply on first day of sale in future.
Nice of the club to send me emails telling me when I can buy home game tickets even though I've had an S/T for 40 years (and lots of other shite) but no word on away tickets. Luckily the cups for cock ups is only off the pitch these days - other than the shooting at Goodison this afternoon.

If the club said there were tickets left but just for the £200 buffet more fans may be upset. Why advertise something only after it has sold out?

The Palace away last season looked like a tittle decider well in advance but then CIty were 6/1 before the day and city put Palace tickets back on sales due to a high amount of 'returns', but it was the week of the game.

I'm not sure it needs spelling out.

As long as the sales team make a few extra quid it doesn't matter eh?

Indeed, you can just imagine the Monday after the game sales meeting

"Great success that boat, we had a waiting list of 300 as well as the 200 who were on it....... now then how many does a canal boat on the Manchester Ship Canal hold for the Derby and how much do you think we can get away with charging"

Exactly.

Then you get a telephone survey asking about the City 'ethos'.

The OS reports that the £200 river cruise and Chelski tickets "offer" sold out today so that suggests the Club held back even more tickets for Corporates!
