Chelsea away (half price)

I always laugh when this debate comes around. Like with any system you will always find people who find loop holes and manage to take advantage of them, but on the whole the system is fare.

3 seasons ago I didn't have enough points to get to some of the games I wanted to get to, but I've spent the past few seasons getting to as many aways as I can (including pre seasons in Scotland!), along with the cup schemes etc, and now I'm on 9500+ points.

Barring United and Liverpool I probably now stand to get a ticket for most aways.

that's exactly the right way to go about it. our team and club has changed so much. we just went to games for the laugh, yes we wanted a win but it wasn't about that. good job because we were shite. little did we know that in years to come we'd reap the benefits.

Don't the rags have a loyalty pot who are all pretty much guaranteed to get a ticket and then the rest go into a ballot? Their loyalty pot is pretty similar to ours because although with ours you have an option of not deciding to apply nearly all those with the most points do and then just flog them on if they're not going. Not against our system because loyalty gets rewarded but so many have no chance of ever catching up. It's pretty clear to see that the average age of our away fans is increasing (obviously ridiculous prices also plays a big part in this). Won't ever happen but I think the points system should stay as it is but a limited number should be put on sale at the ground on a Saturday morning and then if some people really want one they've got to get off their arse early that morning and it's first come first served.

Not sure about them having a 'loyalty pot' as such, but they do have fans who get priority when they apply for away tickets. My mate has a table at the swamp and usually applies for four away tickets, he always gets tickets but normally only two. Similar to our Superbia members I assume. I have another mate who's been a season ticket holder for years at United and they apply for every game, he reckons they only get to five or six away games a season. I think our system is about as fair as it can be.

Sure I read that the Rags take off a similar amount off each away ticket ( £5 or something)

Much prefer to see the bigger reduction in a couple of games than a couple of quid over all the games.

The only way it could become fairer is if they made it a 10 year rolling system, so you lose the points you acquired over 10 years ago. That way, people can catch up with the older fans who have had more time to acquire more points. I'm sure the older blues will disagree, but just think of how pointless our system will be in 15 years - our kids will never have a chance of going unless they have a granddad who followed City home and away.

Obviously people who still go to as many games as possible wouldn't be affected because they would always stay near the top.

Booking travel etc now.

Do we think 10,500 points will be enough?

If your going by Train and from Manchester, great offer on Saturday Travelcard £40.80 and gives you unlimited travel on Tubes and buses in london as well.

only snag here was the points earned 10 years ago were the hardest to achieve. we were fucking dire and never had cup runs. the suffering was barbaric :)

I'd guess you have a 50/50 chance mate. Demand is very high with lots of Blues asking for tickets and Supporters Club allocations have been cut!
