Chelsea away (half price)

It is the fairest system there is,I don't go every away game anymore, but having had a season ticket for 37 years & been to nearly 100 grounds watching the blues I will get a ticket for every game & do with it as I wish, never making money out of fellow blues though.
It's just the way of life, when the younger fans who go everywhere nowadays are in there fifties, they will be able to do as they wish with there tickets.
Will put my tin hat on for the points whore barrage haha

True, when I mentioned to a Rag mate I was going to Barca (booked day of the draw) he asked how did I know I would get a match ticket. When I explained to him how we distribute our tickets he was first to agree that it was a much better system that they have

our system is fair. the only people who think it isn't are the ones that sat on their arses when we were shit.

Total agreement, do the miles get the reward.

they have got it easy. in time if they hang around long enough they will get the required points as people my age stop going through old age or illness. the difference is they will have aquired the points watching kompany, silva and co. somewhat different to dunnie and his like.

Dunnie? dunnie? dunnie..... They were fucking great days... What about Kernaghan and Symons, with fucking Russell up front, and to top it all you got no points for watching that shower

The points system is the envy of a lot of other supporters of other teams. I know it can be abused at times but it is one of the fairest ways of doing it.
Like the lottery at the swamp where you put your name in a hat (but only if you haven't missed an away game all season) Something like that.

True mate.

I always laugh when this debate comes around. Like with any system you will always find people who find loop holes and manage to take advantage of them, but on the whole the system is fare.

3 seasons ago I didn't have enough points to get to some of the games I wanted to get to, but I've spent the past few seasons getting to as many aways as I can (including pre seasons in Scotland!), along with the cup schemes etc, and now I'm on 9500+ points.

Barring United and Liverpool I probably now stand to get a ticket for most aways.

I see United fans are back out in droves taking the piss out of this. Yes, taking the piss out of a club using *funds from the Premier League* to *make an expensive away day cheaper for fans*. Is there a lower life form than the Man United glory hunter?

Don't the rags have a loyalty pot who are all pretty much guaranteed to get a ticket and then the rest go into a ballot? Their loyalty pot is pretty similar to ours because although with ours you have an option of not deciding to apply nearly all those with the most points do and then just flog them on if they're not going. Not against our system because loyalty gets rewarded but so many have no chance of ever catching up. It's pretty clear to see that the average age of our away fans is increasing (obviously ridiculous prices also plays a big part in this). Won't ever happen but I think the points system should stay as it is but a limited number should be put on sale at the ground on a Saturday morning and then if some people really want one they've got to get off their arse early that morning and it's first come first served.

The people poking fun at it are those who have probably never been in a European football ground

Just ask the idiots what their club is doing with the money given to every Premier league club to help fans out.
