Chelsea - FA Cup SF | Post-Match Thread

The FA cup and League are just distractions at this point, we already won both multiple times. Pep made the right decision to rotate and keep players fresh and hungry.

The main objectives are the league and the CL, I was actually surprised Pep risked KDB.

Also It will probably be the same team again against Spurs next week-end which is again fine, if we get it it's a bonus but priority is to make sure players are fresh for the PSG game.

I think the media got into the head of many of our fans with this quadruple nonsense.
And your a football fan ?

Distraction? That's the most arrogant fucking thing I've ever heard.

The corner at the end of the first half summed the game up for me. Said to my old man ‘watch us play this one short here’.

It’s mad how we can seem so tactically engaged one day to completely look so clueless the next

The problem with Sterling is that he's got the ball control of a 5 year old that's had a gallon of Stella. This is a long running issue. He can't execute the simplest of passes. He looks great running at poor full backs, but when we have to play the passing game, it's beyond his capability. His brain does not co-ordinate with his feet. You know, I know and everybody knows that if he had an open goal to win a game on a big stage, he would miss it.
Sterling has a high salary and low ability. We can't trust him.

To my mind the problem is that we don't have a fluid squad. The best eleven is probably the starting eleven from Dortmund but we should only be swapping two or three for today's game and then change another one or two for Wednesday, and again for Sunday. Six or seven changes causes too much disruption, particularly when so many players are in a bad run of form, or coming back from injury (Ake against Leeds).

That's so wrong. So wrong.

Yep, was the same bollocks after the Leads loss.. all about prioritising the important things at this point in the season and if you scrape through the others it’s a bonus. (The league is obviously important, the most important in my eyes but it’s done).

I was considering reigniting the squad rotation argument on here after we knocked out Dortmund on Wednesday but decided to not dampen the mood and be the bigger man for once.

I do honestly think it was a key factor in our progression in that competition though.. we looked so much fresher than Dortmund during the second half as it was a high tempo game and legs became a factor..
