Can't do it all in Jan though the real problem is the overall squad

How many have contributed with mainly good performances this season?

Donna yes
Trafford not played much but a good back up
Ortega nope
Betinelli nope

Mufini nope
Dias yes
Stones nope
Braithwaite nope
Ake nope
Nouri nope
Gvardiol yes
Lewis nope
Khusanov nope
Oreilly yes

Nico G yes
Cherki erm.....
Reinjders erm.....
Nunes yes
Mukasa nope
Bobb nope
Foden yes
Phillips nope
Mciadoo nope
Rodri yes
Doku yes
Sav nope
Kovacic nope
Silva yes
Gray nope

Haaland yep
Marmoush nope
Heskey nope
Hesketh nope

There isnt much quality depth there at all, even though Rodri hasn't contributed much this season he will be a main player

By my reckoning 12 good players who have deserved their place and 2 inconsistent guys. I think Khus and Kova are good. Out of 30 odd players though thats not great.

Injuries, form and fatigue are problems for us, we are doing well to be 2nd with the injuries we keep getting, no wonder the team is fucked. We need a few more players with skills we havent got and positions where we have limited back up. Will take at least this Jan and summer I feel.
Yes, fully agree. In a nutshell, far to many players just not at the required level. But if we can get any in the January window(other than Semenyo) it'll be a massive bonus, even if they're just loans. Thats me hoping, doubt it'll happen.

Thought we were unlucky yesterday… we seemed to chose the wrong passing option in the box, Fidel & Cherki guilty the most. The injuries to our CB’s didn’t help and it looked like Rodri & Nico were dead on their feet at the end.

Chelsea got lucky aided by some woeful ref decisions, god knows why he didn’t card all their team.

I think we might need to push the boat out and buy on of the English lads from Palace or Forrest to help us out. The Arsenal bench against Bournemouth was far superior than ours yesterday.

I do think that we are moving in the right direction & my son pointed out that the day of the CL final is a blue moon so fingers crossed

So going off your list that leaves us with 14 players. Majority of the ones you've said nope to I'd ship out, apart from the youth and RAN and Marmoush. The rest just simply aren't up to it.

Stones, Ake, Lewis, Bobb, Phillips, Savinho and Kovacic for starters. That'd free up some room in the squad and on the wage bill

Game killer for me was the STUPID pass into Haaland, from Foden, WHEN CHERKI WAS FREE AND CLEAR TO HIS RIGHT!!

Fucking pissed me off that and I knew then we'd drop points!
This, this & this again.
I was screaming when Foden played the ball to Haaland.
Cherki was rightfully giving Foden a round of fucks for that.

Who can he bring in? Look at Arsenal's bench (even with injuries they have) then at our bench, EDS players. Bad squad planning even with 2 afcon absentees.
He could have given more minutes to other players in the first half of the season. No excuses. They've not all be hurt the entire season.

Is it just me but I thought Haaland had a very good game without scoring.
I just do not get where all the dreadful comments are coming from.
Goes for every player.
Disappointed losing that injury time goal but none of our players were dreadful.yesterday
It seems Haaland's the new scapegoat for some fans mate. Sure, his primary job is to put the ball in the back of the net but because he didn't do that yesterday (I thought he was desperately unlucky with the one that hit the post), his defensive work in our own box got totally overlooked by the scapegoat mob.

The club bought Khus and Reis but none have made the impact needed
Khus is an example of the haphazard, apparent toss-a-coin decision making that's been evident for a while.

When he started playing, everything picked up. Results, performance, morale, belief. Other defenders suddenly seemed to remember their job, and he was lauded on here.

He was in EVERYBODY's predicted lineup and reached near cult status in no time. Raw, of course, but his Chelsea debut said everything about his character.

A 21(?)-year-old, not speaking a word of English whose first involvement was gifting them a goal and whose second was to get booked - all in the first 5 minutes or so.

Yet by the time he was subbed he'd regrouped and walked off with head held high. That took real character.

Then for some reason - was it the '10-game threshold' before the price went up as many thought? - out of the picture. Certainly not because of performances - in the Real Madrid tie he had Vinicius virtually in his pocket to the extent that in the end you could tell that the winger didn't even want to take him on.

Since then he's been a bit player. Sitting on the bench watching a defence often running around like headless chickens whenever it's attacked with pace - exactly his strength.

God knows what's going through his mind these days.

He got subbed at half time in a cup match after getting a yellow and looking like he was going to end up being sent off.
Gvardiol went to centre half, O Reilly came on as LB and played a stormer. Pep didn't change the formation much after that.
Khuzanov didn't get a look in after that.

You forgot the 4 keepers in the squad ?

Not for the first time players have either tried a pass to Haaland that either, had little chance of reaching him (defenders anticipate the pass) or ignored another teammate in a better position (Foden not spotting Cherki's run). This overriding imperative to pass to EH is sometimes not always the best option, but I wonder if players are perhaps just following a Pep directive?

Oh yes, I remember.

Even so, I'd like to see Khus given some of the latitude that Pep always gave to Kyle Walker, who always had that in him, too.

Everybody went with Haaland. Phil, the Chelsea defenders and the cameraman..
it's an easy pass to Cherki on the telly or up on level 2/3 but in the heat of the game, not so simple.

the overarching theme here that i think people don't want to admit is that haaland isn't making very good runs, and our players are struggling to find him through a combination of poor crossing/passing AND him not making himself easy to find. it's not just on them. the striker has to take responsibility.
