I said at half time we needed a second early in the second half.

Inexplicably Pep (and the players) didn’t respond at all to Chelseas’s obvious change of formation where they created the 4 man midfield box. This enabled them to control the midfield and later isolate Rodri. It was clear Chelsea were going to create goal scoring opportunities as a result. That’s not a good strategy at 1-0.

I’m struggling to find any rationale for keeping Rodri on for the full game. He was obviously dying at 65 mins and was being waltzed past at will.

Ake coming on was very unfortunate. He’s clearly miles off fitness, was slow, stiff and cumbersome and looked uncomfortable. Not sure there was any other option though. Lack of squad depth.

I wonder how @GX Blue feels now after saying we’d beat Chelsea and Semenyo could stay at Bournemouth, twiddling his thumbs, a few more days?

Limitations mate. The squad is just not ready for a title scrap. We need more players to move in and out. We need time. The climb back is on. Far better team than this time last season.

Every game we say the same issues. Too open, not taking chances, players look wrecked. Poor in possession. Tiredness and not enough good players to carry the load of winning.

The only real option would have been Rico Lewis. Moving NOR or Nunes would have been a risk with Chelsea’s pacy wide players.

Foden and Cherki were creatively dreadful today. Had one of them been at it, we’d have won 3 or 4 nil.

We just don't have any sort of quality right now ? Marmoush is at ACON, same with Ait Nouri, then Phillips Stones Bobb Lewis Kovacic are never fit enough or have injuries

7 or 8 places should be made available for new faces and the rest should move out

Never got out of second gear first half, but deserved the lead. In our prime, we would crank it up second half and finish the game off and win 3-0. This team isnt capable, and thats why we will finish second.

How was he missing ffs? He was feeding off scraps, still making great runs but Foden and Cherki couldn’t find him. Thought he played really well tonight. Criticize the right players if you going to give criticism.

I get the sentiment, the kids had a real go in a position that isn’t his, so you want him to be a success, but in the cold hard light of the day..he’s not the answer.

Same with nunes, he’s improved, and he’s been really good the last two games, but he needs replacing.

It’s about finding that extra 1 or 2% to be champions again. Have to be ruthless.

Indeed and they also created 3 really good chances. Subbing one of Phil or Cherki to add a body into midfield would have been the move, but regardless, if those 2 played better than they did, we wouldn't have been as poor. Aside from the final third, there were far too many poor passes/bits of control in midfield - we gave them more opportunities than they earned

Nunes needs replacing? why would you replace arguably the player of the season so far? FFS!

I'm not buying this out of gas justifications for our recent performances. Our play in the build-up is slow. We invariably pass the ball from side to side as there is little movement from our players off the ball. Nor do we press like we used to. We no longer break with pace so where does the tiredness come from. Maybe mental but for me not physical.

Only ourselves to blame really as that second half was pretty awful. Got dragged into their scrappy horrible game and we lost complete control we had in the first half.

Sadly Chelsea are a very very poor side and that is a poor two points dropped.

About as typical a City performance as you’ll see against a rudderless Chelsea who were absolutely there for the taking. We’ve gone from the prime Mike Tyson to the Frank Bruno of footy, that killer instinct all but gone. Fucks sake City.

we should have bottled it in the first half we where better. Chelsea did great changes that changed the game, we could not answer Duku was the only one who could change and it did in my mind but Dias sub really changed it.

Can’t really blame anyone what changes could pep have done? Gonzalo, savinho, Kovacic and Stones injured, Marmush and Ait Nuri in Afcon

Ake is done but we have no other. Sure expert’s think we should buy a central defender and we sure do but we also need Semenyo, Savinho and Bobb will not provide goals

Do agree on that Cherki need to be quicker on the ball. And when it’s 90+ minutes it’s defenetly not time to start playing on flicks and shit. The ball should be as far away from goal as possible. Think it was him and Bernardo who was in a situation after Nunes went in hard and wanted to clear the ball on the stands they did not follow that and Chelsea got the ball and started the attack that resulted a goal.
