Chelsea (H) Post Match Thread

Analysis of our games is really bad for every game. Its always about the poor opposition rather that City do right and force them to be poor. Pundits in this country hardly delve into deeper tactics to show why they play like they do.

True. It's all hypotheticals, had Kante been playing, had Morata started, had Diego Costa not been sold, had the Reptilian Overlords intervened as they promised they would...

To be fair, Chelsea were shite. No effort or ambition at all, should rightly be highlighted in this instance. We were praised all night against Arsenal midweek as well.

Got lucky today we gave the ball away too much and barely scrapped the possession stat. If chelsea scored twice we would have lost. Bring back Keegan.lol

I wondered how we'd do without Fernandinho. We haven't skipped a beat. Just amazing.

I think this could be a key factor in our success to the end of the season;

Ferny, Sane, Jesus, Delph, David, Sterling have now all had a mid season rest, should be fresh for the big tests in the CL.

Bring it on!

From an analysts perspective what else do you say but what Neville did - that City are miles ahead of the rest who, as he pointed out, are all just surrendering before they kick off playing a mini league of their own rather than giving it a go like Liverpool did and at least try to create some fear for next season.

From anyone but our own perspective the fact that we are miles ahead of the rest who are scared to death of us and so all play negative to minimise goal difference damage and that as a result we could dominate for years is a concern.

Sky have to promote a competition so they inevitably attack teams like Arsenal and Chelsea who basically just stand and watch us in awe.

The praise for some of the passing and fight and tracking back today was there. But the story was not really us winning again. It was the champions failing to give it a go when they need to make top 4.

Yes. I'd like to give Kevin one now. He's been running his socks off for weeks. Just a little break to let him recharge.

There's parking the bus and then there is parking the 150 foot trophy boat on the pitch. That's what Chelsea did today.

I think it's kind of unfair how Aguero's recent performances have gone so unnoticed. He's playing so well. He's now such a great team player it's actually beautiful. Terrific performance. And such a great keeper of the ball, incredible.

Tyler is. But Gary Neville is astute and fair and has praised City a lot.

There are some people over reacting to anything slightly critical he says.

But objectively he is Sky's best commentator by a mile.

He'd be a bit of a dick if he didn't praise us now and again. The man is a fraud and Pep saw right through him.

Astoundingly good performance, given the week we’ve had.
People can moan about Chelsea’s lack of ambition as much as they want. The reality is that we simply didn’t give them a sniff because of the quality of our play.

One thing Gary Neville did say in commentary that also might be worth watching is that he found at United when you got to the later stage of the CL that playing teams who just come and play (or not play) v you week after week hoping for one break to get a draw can make it harder to raise your game when needed and you are playing the top Euro sides after week after week of opposition not playing football against you.
Do you really give a toss what gary neville says ?

Do we think this is through Pep’s management or off Agüero’s back?
