Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Pep might be a lot of things but arrogant isn't one of them.
It's getting nearly as tedious reading that than the other nonsense cliché that he's over thinking.
He put out a team which was more than capable of winning the game and should have been over by half time.
He's earnt the right to tinker, the league is won and although getting beat is never fun, it'll mean fuck all when we lift the trophy.

Well that ‘dogshit starting 11’ would have won that game yesterday except for the following:

1) Aguero penalty
2) Eddie very poor on first goal. Seems to get an easy ride on here compared to other players and manager.
3) Sterling penalty that should have been given.
Agree with 2. Not been mentioned much.

Pep believes he's bigger than the club.
Should we except that he wants to tinker with the BIGGEST game of the season and let us the down while we have grandkids sat on our knees in their city kits awaiting the buzz of feeling champions?

Of course we should cos Peps got a master plan.
Let's fucking hope he has.
And I bet it doesn't include players like Mendy.
So why?
He does not think he’s bigger than the club, he tries to do his best for the club. He’s paid to make decisions and he’s not made many wrong ones so far.

One thing we know know is that our so called super squad isn’t that super .
sterling not good enough atm and I can’t see him making it back to were he was
Laporte ? Huge drop from were he was but hopefully can get back
Torres ? Needs another season but has to shake up fast
jesus has heart but mid level striker at best cash in if we can
Mendy shocking shocking shocking the camp clown on and off the pitch
Rodri ? I don’t know what to make of him because some games he is fantastic and other games he can’t control midfield which should be his bread and butter .but his passing his quality
Cancelo ? Gone fron last season being terrible to being the one of the first names on the sheet. To now going backwards again. Big next season for him needed .
ake ? Had a injury hit first season but he was never going to be a starter all the time . I like ake and think he will be a good deputy to come in ( but does he want that or does he want to start most games which won’t happen )
When you drop one or two into our main team you never see hardly see these flaws because the other players are that good they carry them but to change nearly all the squad against a top Chelsea outfit is schoolboy errors .
People will not agree with this but this is my humble opinion .

Surely prior to 1) in time lines was the question of Sterling getting a red.

Would you describe Kun's penalty as arrogant? or maybe even egotistical?

Have you seen Linakers tweet? He said to be fair to Taylor Sterling was only fouled 4 times!
I don't sit watching the footy on telly at every televised match - not even City's - but I conclude that there isn't another player in the PL who gets fouled so much and the only free kick he gets is the one from a defender. I think refs have psychologically imprinted a 'Sterling tumble' on their psyche and not a 'Salah tumble' and consequently he's left, like the rest of us, fuming at the partiality of PL reffing. The outcome is that we can rant and rail about the incompetence or blatant cheating by refs whereas Raz just has to inwardly fume and bear it. Not even PiGMOL demand that a player must 'grin'!

Two victories over us in the last few weeks will mean they will have a psychological edge however you want to dress it up.
I'm not sure that this has ever been proven to be true. Many top sportspeople have the mentality to learn from defeats and not dwell on them. If there was a measurable advantage we would see some correlation with the team winning the first leg of a 2-leg knockout stage often going on to win the 2nd leg. There's just no evidence of this.

An example of this is the 2017 CL where PSG didn't appear to show any psychological edge over Barcelona despite going into the return fixture with a 4 goal advantage. If there was any psychological advantage to PSG it was so small as to be immeasurable.
