Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Reminded me of a couple of years ago against the rags. 2-0 up at half time then threw it away in the second half. Feel a bit flat but we will get the win we need. CTID

I for one am shitting myself that a club that has won 3/4 of its PL titles on the final day of the season is dragging it out a bit just for the sake of rest and rotation. Don’t know how I’ll cope with the stress and pressure the Mighty Red Shite will be putting on us now

Arrogant to assume our first team will just beat them in a final. Arrogant to think losing games doesn’t matter.
I agree mate.

It is arrogant of us to think that chelsea will just rollover if we bring our A game and strongest eleven.

The small glimpse of Foden and Gundog the last quarter is telling of how they more or less know how to nullify players by type.

We’ve been playing the way we play for more than a 100 games. Tuchel has a lot of samples to work with in terms of understanding our pattern of play.

In contrast, the way that Tuchel chelsea has played against us we’ve only seen twice. They didnt play like this against Real. And they certainly don’t play like this against other league teams.

I believe if Pep still sticks to the way we play, which he hasn’t the choice anyway given that we won’t be seeing the way chelsea played today against us until CL final, we will edge them based on individual brilliance.

Hopefully the likes of Foden and Mahrez step up and improvise off the cuff then.

Oh yeah, so much pressure, we have to win 1 game out of 3 (and that's only if Utd wins all of their games)...
Spot on. I think that we would agree that we have faced trickier situations than this in previous seasons. Utd play Villa tomorrow, Leicester Tuesday and Liverpool Thursday. What price one of those matches will end in a draw.

We need two points with our +17 gd. It’s good that we still have something to play for to stay sharp as three weeks is a long time for a professional player to loaf about.

I don’t hold any sway towards the psychological advantage stuff. We have a first 11 chocked full of experience and showed against PSG that we are full of the right character.

Each to their own tonight but I would just try to get over it quickly. It’s been a great season and there’s no mileage in slagging off our players who collectively have performed brilliantly this year.

I don’t buy all of this talk of Pep resting players not to give anything away.

As if Tuchel isn’t going to be aware of how we play. He’ll be studying the PSG, Dortmund and all other games we’ve played with a false 9.

After the FA cup game, today was about sending them a message and winning the PL. Now Chelsea will have a lot of confidence going into the final and questions will rightly be asked if they have our number.
Good thing there is nothing for you to 'buy' then.

It's just obvious and not up for debate.

I have been watching some Chelsea games under Tuchel, the most "important" ones, and to be honest the team i saw putting them under trouble was Oporto. With Oporto mad dog pressing, intensity and competitive mindset. We need to play with our best players of course, but we need to match them in that intensity and pressing.

You know what. I'm off to have a beer or two with my Mrs and see if some of the people who are currently embarrassing themselves take a breath. Have a good evening to the rest of you left trying to explain to some absolute mardarses why Pep, the greatest club manager of a generation currently having the greatest season in City's history, made the very simple and obvious decisions today and why Aguero, our greatest striker of all time, is allowed a mistake or two in a meaningless game.
Same here tbh. Looking fw to a good night, celebrations can wait until tomorrow. Anyone who cant wait for that go watch something else or something

Well said mate.

Tuchel in his post-match interview:

'If you want to steal all three points at the Etihad you need a bit of luck, moments and decisions from the referee. But we had many half chances in the second half and so a big congratulations to the team for their performance.'

He's been in England four months and can already see how the games are managed.

I am now really annoyed and nervous not only for CL final, but for the last three games.
