Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Awful. That’s two points we have tossed away at home in injury time in the last few weeks. Two points that would have won us the league effectively.

Pep was taking the piss with that side today and we got what we deserved, Nothing. How he left Mendy on for so long defies logic.

If nothing else it has completely shut the door on some of these players getting in the side for that final. Rodri will definitely be out for me after that shitshow.

Self inflicted and given Chelsea a big psychological boost for the CL final. 2 losses on the bounce to them.
Where's the big psychological boost? They played a side with 9 changes from our best team and put together in a completely untried formation just to fit them in and only managed to beat us with the last kick thanks to some poor decisions, there's really not much of a boost they can take from that

All on pep this (and aguero) Why on earth did he change the side. The final isn’t until the end of the month...

Just play our best side for an important game

no, you would have to be real stupid to give chelsea a look at your best eleven two weeks before you play them in a champions league final. and the game was won before half time if kun scores the penalty

Had everything to do with the team selection. Missing a penalty is one thing, a shit show of a performance lies with the manager.

The manager put out a side that was 1 goal and a penalty up in the first half.

He cant legislate for Aguero deciding nows the time to fuck about.

If his striker plays for the team, we are 2-0 up and it is game over.

Stop trying to find excuses for Aguero by blaming the manager who put us on the verge of victory.

Well. Risk in playing that team, but Pep wiill have learnt a few things about Chelsea.
Don't think he needed to learn anything about us except for whether that formation might work.
No way he'll brain fart in the final, so that's good.
Serg - yes he fucked up breng arrogant. End of, as Pep knows that all the deck is stacked in our favour at present.

Today was just a complete experiment, preventing Tuchel from getting a look at match ups.
Just because we could afford to.

We’ll be champions before we play again on Friday, but even so very very poor from pep and every player. Just no idea what he was thinking picking that team. His slack attitude to the match was passed onto the players

and don’t get me started on that **** Taylor. Salah or Rashford are given that penalty every single time

Poor all round. Key moments, Sergio fuck up, Rodri doing what he often does, gets caught in possession... then Taylor’s brainfart decision for a 100% penalty on Sterling. Then slack at the end. Very poor performance, worst of the season for me. I don’t understand why so many changes, we don’t play again until Friday night.

Nothing to do with team selection, the title was there for taking but the desire seemed to be missing today.

We haven’t got the pace to match them, even with a full strength team. That won’t necessarily be the deciding factor, but their style is a major inconvenience to us, 50/50.
Thats the worry. James played himself in to the final today. We have no match at lb.

I don't like the mentality these games don't matter. Last I checked the title's not won yet and we shouldn't be so arrogant to assume it's a formality. Very very poor showing.

There's no shame in losing to a good side. There is shame in a performance like that when the title's at stake.

I said it in the prematch thread that team selection has left us vulnerable to a psychological advantage going into the final. So it has come to pass, having said we almost got away with it, his Aguero had struck that pen properly I think we would have won.

There’s no advantage for Chelsea. They’ve played against a weakened City team twice in three weeks now. If our first team played today and struggled to break them down, then that is a real physiological advantage.

I'm not gonna blame Sergio, he has more than enough credit in his account for me. I'm a bit pissed off with Pep but we're still winning the Prem and this result has no bearing on the CL final...it might even give Chelsea false confidence.
