Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

Usual nonsense being written on here and worst of all turning on the likes of Aguero and Pep.

Obviously we have a lot of experts on here but do you ever wonder why pretty much every manager complains about too many games, not enough recovery time etc?

Pep rested players because this match was a free hit for us coming on the back of two tough matches against PSG and 11 matches in the last 35 days. Unlike on here, Pep will be talking to the sports scientists, experts in their field, when considering team selection as well as forging a tactical plan.

Hate to lose but we didnt give chelsea a chance to play against us in how we will play in the clf so im not to worried about that .Only Sterling did himself any favours for the cup final. We now need to put the league to bed against newcastle by playing a strong side

Keep your team keen, options for the final, am I in or am I out, could I play my way in, we’re the total opposite, we clearly show the whole world who is playing in the 1/4 semi and final, we’ve thrown 3 games saving that team for it. Having said that Sergio has a lot to answer for

Tyler, Neville and Taylor can all fuck off.

Tyler had the gall to laugh at Sterling complaining about conceding freekick by saying in so many words: "First to appeal for a foul when he's been pushed but protests wildly when he's pushed someone else and the ref has given it. He has to be consistent." What game was this bellend watching? There were 4-5 just on Sterling in the first half(many more on other players such as Rodri throughout the 90mins) and Taylor gave none of those... where's this mythical consistency?

There was something very weird about the way Neville called the penalty incident, almost as if he knew straight away VAR was not going to give it before they'd even checked it.

Taylor.... shite ref, inconsistent as can be.

Right.

Not a pen on Sterling - sorry, he was stumbling. Really sharp call by the ref.

Aguero - deary me, look what you could have won.

Still not totally despondant. I fancied us for winning that right up until the end. Can't be bad. A better performance than the QF and Leeds game for me.

Raheem's link up play has gone off the boil notably but he put in the yards. Gabby looks lost because he never gets to play with the good team. Attacking is a confidence game. Both are lacking. Look how confident Foden and Gundogan were when they came on. Straight into aggressive attacking. Can't wait for them to turn it around.

The rest of them I have very little to say about.

Yeah, we still overshadow that match. Liverpool would have to deal with handing us the title to keep their top 4 hopes alive. And Utd have to deal with the possibility of losing to their 'greatest rivals' and sealing us as champions at the same time. Nice ordeal for them.
It was a clear foul on Sterling. Zouma runs through his legs. However, we deserved to lose.

We had the lead in the league and Pep has used it. He might be right to do so after all the players who played against PSG might be well into the red zone for all we know. Felt like a suicidal line-up mind you. Couldn't see us winning that when I saw the side

Problem for us is Pep is way too clinical from a fans perspective. He is willing take a huge risk in a big home game as there are no fans in to keep happy if it gives him an extra 1% in a future game.

It might work in the long run but short term its frustrating.

We all felt this way after Leeds. We go on to beat Dortmund away 4 days later.

We all felt this way after Fa cup semi. We go on to beat Villa, Spurs, PSG.

Pep is being machine like this season. As fans we are emotional and its sometimes hard to accept. Only will the CL final result tell.

Tuchel has Pep’s number here.

Even with Zinch, Foden, Gundog, didn’t create nay a ripple of improvement. I hate to say this but it does really feel that Tuchel and chelsea have made a lot of effort and maybe technology in AI machine learn our tactic as a team and as individual players.

I’m not at all surprised if he lost against the lower teams but keeps on winning against us. If I were Tuchel new to the job, of course the first team that I want to deviscerate and analyse every granular detail will be us, Manchester City. He wants to win the league next year.

I have a bad feeling about the CL final, and this will keep me flapping to no end.
Nothing against you mate but we will beat chelski in the final because pep knows exactly what he is doing. When I saw the team sheet today I thought oh fuck fa cup all over again then realized it’s a ploy for the final. We will win the league but not our empty ground .

Nobody should ring themselves in the belief "but they beat our second string 2x and in CL final that wont because we pay our best line up".

Might happen, even if it does it will be extremely hard.

Tuchel is no mug, 2 CL final in a row, if we beat them in the final it will be a very close game. We need to raise our game big time even with a stronger line up.
Agree 100% but is it possible that he was thinking "well if I play my best XI today and they beat us that gives them a massive lift for the final?"

Given that we don't have a midweek game that's the only reason I can see for making 9 changes, apart from possibly protecting them from injury.

Far less than genuine stonewall fouls that are just swept under the carpet. Foden found out that if yer get fouled and stay on yer feet yer not getting the pen; Raheem already knew before tonight that yer can get clattered and yer not getting the pen. It was clear from his interview post-match how annoyed he was with that decision. There'll be a pen before the week is out that some whistling wanker will award with just a fraction of a touch!
Newcastle game?

Is anybody else actually scared that Pep will actually go 5 at the back in the final. Because I am.
