Typical Bluemoon arrogance. Have you seen the quality of their back four?

Have you?

Didn't know that teams who ship 5 goals at home were regarded as having a quality back four.

I like Mata and Sturridge but apart from that they've got nothing.

Re: Chelsea Vs City Pre Match Discussion Thread

Yo, I'm a Chelsea fan, and Sorry if it feels like I'm Intruding but i just want to Give you Insight from a Chelsea fan's perspective...This is a Forum after all...Anyway Before I go on to the Actual Match this Quote really Annoyed me...

We need to watch out for Mata, arguably the second best player on the pitch. I would be delighted with a 2-2 draw. Interesting that AVB would not be disappointed with a draw if press reports are to be believed.

ok i'll argue. assuming you are putting him behind Silva, my view is he is not better than Aguero, Yaya, Kompany, Hart, Dzecko, Richards, Balo, Nasri, Milner or Barry at least.

Assuming you mean the second best attacking midfielder, then i'd put him on a par with Nasri, maybe him have the edge. Good player, but he's flattered in a poor team so far.

No offense, but This dude is letting his Fanboyism go to his head.... When it comes to Mata vs Silva, I've always been saying that Silva is the better player. But to dis Mata like that, seriously...? Silva and Mata will be the best 2 Players on the pitch, no doubt, and the dude who states "my view is he is not better than Aguero, Yaya, Kompany, Hart, Dzecko, Richards, Balo, Nasri, Milner or Barry at least." is kidding himself, Mata is a Fantastic world class Player. He is 2nd is the League in Assists, and if Our Strikers put away anywhere near 50% of the chances they're given Mata would have even more Assists. Also this is Juan Mata's first season in the EPL, and he is already on fire, Something even Silva wasn't doing in his first year. All I'm saying is Silva is world Class, but IMO Mata is young, and will eventually become as good, if not better than Silva ( you can disagree if you want, this is just an Opinion xD )

Now my thoughts on your team. All I can say is that you guys look like Champions right now...We (Chelsea) will DEFINITELY Not win the the League this year, We're in a transitional period, that could take up to 2 Years, Shifting on the Dead wood like Malouda, Kalou, Mikel, Bosingwa etc and brining in Fresh blood, Hopefully Hazard! but expect us to be Challenging for the title soon :) Anyways basically the title is yours to lose.

Now about the match, We Chelsea fans will be content with a Draw, but I expect us to be Attacking more than we did against Valencia, I doubt we will play a high line, but at the same time I don't expect us to 'Park the Bus". I think Some of you MIGHT be underestiming us...On his Day Drogba can sill tear apart Defenses, not saying that will happen but he can be a handful. I'm expecting a Draw

Anyways If you guys have time could you answer me what you Guys think About AVB? and what are your opinions on this Chelsea side?

There's going to be a Lot of Acitivty in Chelsea over the next 1-2 years, I'd like for Chelsea to bring in Hazard and Lucas Moura

P.S LMAO ManUre lost to Basel!

Re: Chelsea Are A Major Threat

Could be our hardest game to date tomorrow they are on a high and avb will need them to back up his claims in the press this week. Drogba looked very good on Tuesday and they are one of the only sides likely to match us in terms of power and physicality. A draw with chelsea and beat arsenal at home would be excellent imo

Man for man (manager included) we are a stronger team. I personally would see it as 2 points dropped if we dont win.

That logic could be applied to every opponent we face domsetically (dependent on your veiw of Mancini's abilities vs other top managers) and is a dangerous mentality to hold. If football was that simple then each season the best team would win every match. It is never that straightforward.

Just look at their fixture list for January...

2 Jan, 15:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers v Chelsea
14 Jan, 15:00 Chelsea v Sunderland
21 Jan, 12:45 Norwich City v Chelsea
31 Jan, 19:45 Swansea City v Chelsea

We really need to try and avoid defeat tomorrow, if possible.

Not the most logical argument in the world as we still have those same fixtures to come.
Think Chelski are more than capable of slipping up at Norwich and Swansea the way they are playing at home

Re: Chelsea Are A Major Threat

Chelsea are in form at the moment and I wouldn't take them to likely. Sideshow Bob is banned for the game tomorrow, so they might actually put out a decent defence. IMO a draw would be an ok result although on paper we should be taking all three points.

Typical Bluemoon arrogance. Have you seen the quality of their back four? Playing away from home on a chilly Monday evening, a City defeat is much more likely than a win, mark my words. A draw would be commendable.

FFS! Why am I arrogant. It's just the truth, these games we have against Chelsea and Arsenal etc. are vital because the teams around us are playing games which some would call 'the bread and butter' of the season. Bankers basically for them. This is our chance to keep a bit of distance between us and the chasing pack. That way we can let them worry about their games against tougher opposition rather than City hoping we will get favourable results to get us where we want to be.

(or something, cmon it's early)

i agree neo, john terry... slow, luiz over aggressive and too forward thinking (leaving big gaps), cole also slow to get back now. so i think they are aged and haven't coped very well defensively with any team so far this season. it's not arrogance to be confident in your teams ability, especially when they haven't been beaten home or away and the so-called toughest games we wiped the floor with, 5-1 and 6-1 respectively.

Correct. All I see is they've got 3 away fixtures coming up out of 4. They'll not win them all that's for certain.

Re: Chelsea Are A Major Threat

And what about Malouda, Drogba, Lampard, Ramires, Meireles, Anelka?

All players of the highest calibre

This could be our most difficult game because Chelsea know if we win the title has gone for them. And their confidence is up having some good results recently.
