Yo, I'm a Chelsea fan, and Sorry if it feels like I'm Intruding but i just want to Give you Insight from a Chelsea fan's perspective...This is a Forum after all...Anyway Before I go on to the Actual Match this Quote really Annoyed me...

We need to watch out for Mata, arguably the second best player on the pitch. I would be delighted with a 2-2 draw. Interesting that AVB would not be disappointed with a draw if press reports are to be believed.

ok i'll argue. assuming you are putting him behind Silva, my view is he is not better than Aguero, Yaya, Kompany, Hart, Dzecko, Richards, Balo, Nasri, Milner or Barry at least.

Assuming you mean the second best attacking midfielder, then i'd put him on a par with Nasri, maybe him have the edge. Good player, but he's flattered in a poor team so far.

No offense, but This dude is letting his Fanboyism go to his head.... When it comes to Mata vs Silva, I've always been saying that Silva is the better player. But to dis Mata like that, seriously...? Silva and Mata will be the best 2 Players on the pitch, no doubt, and the dude who states "my view is he is not better than Aguero, Yaya, Kompany, Hart, Dzecko, Richards, Balo, Nasri, Milner or Barry at least." is kidding himself, Mata is a Fantastic world class Player. He is 2nd is the League in Assists, and if Our Strikers put away anywhere near 50% of the chances they're given Mata would have even more Assists. Also this is Juan Mata's first season in the EPL, and he is already on fire, Something even Silva wasn't doing in his first year. All I'm saying is Silva is world Class, but IMO Mata is young, and will eventually become as good, if not better than Silva ( you can disagree if you want, this is just an Opinion xD )

Now my thoughts on your team. All I can say is that you guys look like Champions right now...We (Chelsea) will DEFINITELY Not win the the League this year, We're in a transitional period, that could take up to 2 Years, Shifting on the Dead wood like Malouda, Kalou, Mikel, Bosingwa etc and brining in Fresh blood, Hopefully Hazard! but expect us to be Challenging for the title soon :) Anyways basically the title is yours to lose.

Now about the match, We Chelsea fans will be content with a Draw, but I expect us to be Attacking more than we did against Valencia, I doubt we will play a high line, but at the same time I don't expect us to 'Park the Bus". I think Some of you MIGHT be underestiming us...On his Day Drogba can sill tear apart Defenses, not saying that will happen but he can be a handful. I'm expecting a Draw

Anyways If you guys have time could you answer me what you Guys think About AVB? and what are your opinions on this Chelsea side?

There's going to be a Lot of Acitivty in Chelsea over the next 1-2 years, I'd like for Chelsea to bring in Hazard and Lucas Moura

My opinion is that this "transitional" period you are in could have been avoided if Abramovich kept a bit of consistency in the management team. The first thing every manager does by default is come in and throw all the experienced players on the pitch and work backwards from there. Gradually over time they start to introduce youngsters and bring in younger players they like. The problem is, when you change managers every 6 months, this is the result. You end up with a team of 11 30+ year old players that are all borderline the end of the career. Now you are having to spend, spend, spend, to get out of a position that could have been avoided by a bit of consistency. It is going to be at least a year before you finally settle down as a team again and no doubt you will make more additions in Jan/Summer.

As for Monday, Chelsea is never an easy game and I will be more than happy with a draw.

This could be our most difficult game because Chelsea know if we win the title has gone for them. And their confidence is up having some good results recently.

Chelsea have not gone up against anyone with the fire power and midfield class that we have this season. We outgun the opposition with goals a lot of the time, maybe not away, but it's a feature we now have with our forwards and attacking midfielders.

They've won 1 CL game v Valencia by a good margin at home before which they were shit! I think we've certianly got it to win ... I agree it'll be 2 points lost if we draw like f*ckin Lawro thinks. If we score first we'll feel at ease and hopefully win. Mancini has got the attitude of winning every game be at home or away and I couldn't agree more as we can now really focus on title and forget CL. Let's go City!!

A draw would be an excellent result, 3 points clear having played liverpool, united, chelsea and spurs away also we would have 2 home games against arsenal and stoke where we should win both whereas united have 2 difficult away games against fulham and qpr.

Spurs are also our other main threat and hopefully they can fuck up against stoke today as they have a relatively easy run of fixtures.

If we can get past everton away on the 1st of feb and still be 4 or 5 points clear we will have 1 hand on the trophy.

Actually the point i was making was that to say Silva is the best player on the park, or Mata for that matter, is not necessarily the case - they are the best in their positions, but how can you or anyone say that Mata for example is a better player than Joe Hart? Clearly apples and pears, but we have plenty of 'world class' players (as do you). My post was therefore a bit tongue in cheek - it is a City forum after all. In any case, i would not swap Mata for Yaya or anyone on my list, as we dont need him, having Silva and Nasri in that position. Yaya might not be as glamorous as david, but in my view is the most important player in our squad, as he is pretty irreplaceable, as we might find out in Jan.

TBF i was probably a bit disrespectful with mata, he is no doubt a class act, but whilst as you say he has hit the ground running, he hasnt been there long enough to really prove himself. I like Chelsea tbh of all the london teams, and hope you continue to improve after monday:)
