Chelsea-Liverpool, United-Leeds, Brighton-Palace all off, rest of the games on (pg 128)

Nah respect for people in mourning isn't bullshit. It just isn't. I'll leave you guys to it though, I didn't think people would be so triggered over missing a days football.
I think the majority who are complaining are those that have spent a few 100 quid to go to games across the country or planned family days or other reasons the matchday was a special or important event for them (maybe the only day they have custody of their child that week, someones birthday, maybe someone seriously ill being treated etc).

They will all mainly be wanting to show repsect for the late monarch with a minutes silence/applause or celebration of her witihn the national sport, and as all other leisure activities be it sport, music, art are still going ahead some will feel this was a pointless gesture that actually fails to show lizzie respect or her former subjects, while also costing people financial and emotional strife.

Matters not to me, no game goign ahead, it won't really affect me beyond it not happening, I will just spend the afternoon watching Seria A on BT Sport or bundersliga on Sky and have a few beers at home, so it isn't like people cannot get a football fix, it is all the other apsects that have riled people and imho they are perfectly in their right to be annoyed.

She gave us 70 years.

The least the public can do is give up a weekend of football.

I don't think many can quite comprehend what a huge moment in time this is, irrespective of your own viewpoint.

It's bigger than any sport, stuff our great grandchildren will be reading about in school 100 years from now.

Certainly not did City fuck up again at home to Spurs this weekend.

Is this your living room? ;)

Not a Republican but this idiotic decision edges me closer it being one.
They are so narrow minded and blinkered that the fact they have done far more harm than good,by making such a senseless and farcical decision, will have completely escaped the self righteous pricks.

I understand that some people don't like the royals and us being a monachist state, however this is what our country is and so the people have to accept this decision.

We are not just talking about a 96 year woman, we are talking about The Queen!
Queen Elizabeth II, the longest living British monarch!

This is major news, front page news, not just here but in every country around the World! Flags are half mast in the USA for example and they even had a minute silence in last night's NFL game and the US Open.

All you have to do is look at the huge crowds who are out in London, Windsor and Balmoral. The people who have sent their condolences, world leaders, people who are well known and who are and have been top of their profession.
No other person in the world would have received that level of response from people, no one! and just wait until it's her funeral.

I know we all love watching City and football, and this is an inconvenience for some, but an event like the Queen dying is unprecedented and will take preference in this country, and rightly so, and like it or not, everyone has to live with it.
It’s not unprecedented though mate.

Monarchs have died before, those who wished to pay their respects did, the world kept on turning, and even football wasn’t cancelled.

The only thing unprecedented is the mandatory mourning and organised grief.

I have every respect for those who choose to mourn by not working, not drinking, not watching sport or TV or whatever. I strongly believe that should be your choice.

But I don’t think it’s fair to impose those choices on people who choose to deal with it in a different way.
