Chelsea Post Match

How can a game of that magnitude with 2 blatant penalty decisions denied us not warrant any post game reaction from the pundits?

How?

I notice though they managed to let us know that the rags suffered a bad referee mistake pmsl.

Sky is a fucking joke.

My head's a bit scrambled still, mate. I take it one of the pens was the Yaya one, looked a def pen to me - was it?

What's the other one?

Costa on Edin mate first half. Nailed on and the view Dean had makes it even more baffling as to why it wasn't given.

Fucking joke the pair of them.

Few things after that. Make it short and sweet:

Watched the top 2 teams in the prem this season today

And for different reasons. City attack, Chelsea sit and play counter. Both very good at what we do.

Ref was shocking (cun#)

Mangala/Milner outstanding

That back four today is our best back 4

We deserved to win

We will go on a run now, after that stupidly difficult start

Best performance of the season

That just about sums it up for me. I've been dealing with some pretty giddy united fans today telling me top 4 is a cert. They are fucking deluded. What I know is take your pick from us and Chelsea for the title, then after that, well I wouldn't put money on any order. Think there are 5 teams fighting for 2 spots now

Well done city

Chelsea din't counter today mate except for maybe the goal and that one chance where Wankacosta hit the post. They offered nothing.

I don't disagree. I thought we nullified them for 90 minutes and deserved to win the game. As a general principle, though, they defend first and attack after. You watch how many games against the hulls/qprs of this world they offer precisely fuck all.

They are, though, very effective. I can't imagine their goals to shot ratio but I'll bet it's right up there.

On a footballing philosophy alone and in entertainment then we would deserve to win this league

For me we are the most balanced team in the pl and but for bent refereeing we would win this league a little easier. But such is life, we just have to put our heads down and keep working. It will happen

Well i liked the game much better than others it would have been a travesty to lose against the borings

Mangala is perfect! I was everytime wondering why defenders are fucking slow have no pace ! He got that the way he came back to ship the ball from fabregas

Good build up i understand the cautious cause they were just waiting for that they even scored for that

Could have tried some long shots at moment

but overall 2 points from Arsenal and Chelsea its not that bad last year it was only one

What Lampard did is something that Fernandinho, fernando or Toure should try to everytime

Great game of football, spoiled by bad refereeing. Milner was brilliant today.
Yes a few easy yellows given but overall he wasn't fooled by some of the penalty appeals. For absolute garbage though he's not a patch on Twattenburg.

I take it you havent seen any replays ? Costa took out Edin clear pen for me , as for the one on Yaya (seen em given) looked like Ivanovic? tripped him from behind ,

Respect to the manager too. Too much yapping about playing two strikers. We bullied Chelsea with two forwards. Rent boys couldn't get the ball, couldn't cause a problem on the break.

THIS! We played two strikers all year last year! And it was a pretty well successful season. Uh, two trophies. Goal-scoring record. But somehow Pellers is some sort of knowledge-deficient idiot for being "wedded" to a formation that just pays such miserable dividends as far as results.

Was there a match last year where we were battered playing with two? I am thinking Bayern home but that was about IT. What, playing 1 up top and a 3-man defensive MF setup would have gotten us the quadruple, then?

But Fernando-Ferny-Yaya in the midfield? Another thing entirely. I imagine that will scare the opposition pantsless.

Anyway, good result all things considered. We were at least 5 points off the pace at this time last year if I remember correctly.

I think Chelsea were simply too timid or the 3 in midfield would have shown. Against arsenal (granted it was a slow lampard) and bayern we were absolutely battered, but chelsea didnt really use the ball at all in MF. Fabregas needed to step up he didn't.

having said that, against small teams (:P) you have to play 2 strikers, so full marks to Pellers

Firstly what a perfect team selection that was.

Secondly that was the finest team performance I've seen for many a year. Everyone to a man charged and hustled and battled. Only goals missing.

We outplayed them on every way shape and form.

All the hype about Fabregas...Dave mullered him.

Costa met his match today and didn't like it one bit.
He is a Suarez waiting to happen. He will lamp someone very soon.

What a monster Mangala is. I swear he was in their box one minute, took about four strides and he was back in defence.
He reminded me one of them off the Transformers movie

Several have mentioned him but Fernandinho....just wow today. Even eclipsed Milner for me.

But...they got what they came for...not to lose

Your opening 5 games include Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, with a trip to Newcastle thrown in and the usual park the bus stuff from Stoke.

How many points should we take? perhaps 9, perhaps 10, we have 8 and i dont think that's too bad or any cause for alarm. The Chelsea game has lifted spirits noticeably, and I think we really need to kick on with a little run against this lot;

Hull away
Villa away
Spurs home
West Ham away
Man Utd home

it appears the Prem is getting tricky!!

Problem is, 4 of those teams are in the top half !!! anyone want to guess which one isn't ?

We played well but in all honesty we should have won that game the chances we had and the way Chelsea came to play. We really need to get on a winning streak next few games start getting the points tally up.

Did that dunderhead Tyler say no when city scored ..good performance today boys some tough games out of the way onwards and upwards

how many bookings are we picking up its daft the ref's are stopping us from playing we seemed to get a yellow for every foul its so wrong and its taking away the power we have over the other teams you pick up a booking early doors and that's it you are playing with in yourself should have been 3 points but for the ref

" It gets very frustrating during the match but its not like we didn't see it all before. Somehow things worked out. It didn't stop us being champions! The fact that Frank scored the equalizer only confirms my faith in karma. So proud of the team today. Really nice the way Frank acknowledged both sets of supporters. Classy man! Well done CITY!!!!"
