Chelsea Thread 2014/15

Arsenal are the best team in the league , and if we dont win it , as much as i despise their self entitled toss pot feckless supporters , i would prefer wenger holding taking the title aloft than the chavs media whore , because his team is functional at best , they would be the worst premiership champions ever , and a very poor advert for the premier league

It wouldn't surprise me for the Arse to leapfrog us both. They seem to be getting it together big time at the moment, and Chelsea look like they are about to burn out.

Us on the other hand...................

Arsenal will not win the league.

Statement of fact
Wishful thinking or,
just bollocks

and my bet is .................................

Chelsea's last 7 home games in all competitions:

Burnley L 2-4
Liverpool D 0-0 (after 90 mins)
City D 1-1
Everton W 1-0 (last minute goal)
Burnley D 1-1
PSG D 1-1 (after 90 mins)
Southampton D 1-1

So 1 win, 5 Draws and 1 loss in 7 games after 90 mins. Just 7 goals scored.

Talk of them being a great team (sick of Gary Neville banging on about it for one) is bollocks. I suspect there would be meltdown on here if we had a sequence of results like that even if we remained in pole position to win the league. Sickening really that we've not competed with them.

Agree.

Chelsea look completely burnt out to me. Mourinho hasn't rotated and it's starting to show. I've watched their games against Burnley, PSG and Southampton recently and they've looked bang average in every game.

Fabregas was their main player in the first half of the season - when did he last have a good game? Diego Costa has barely scored in the last 2 months either.

They haven't got many options from the bench either. Drogba is way past it and Cuadrado has looked awful so far.

If we were closer, I really think we'd smell blood and go on and win it.

True to a certain extent, but Fabregas even at the start of the season was going miss in the big games. Mourinho is unfairly being lambasted as being too defensive in the big games this year. This is not really the case. It's in the City games and the second half of the United game where has actually been defensive. The problem is that Fabregas and often Willian have gone missing meaning the team are being pushed back.

Goals are not everything. Costa has actually been good in recent games. It's the lack of quality service from Oscar, Willian and Fabregas that has effected him. He still has plenty in the tank as does Hazard, who has been brilliant.

If Chelsea had gone through against PSG then burnout would have continued to be a factor, but not anymore. Southampton was their last game where this would be the case. With just the PL to concentrate on the players will be able to recover.

Still the PSG game goes to show what I have always said that this Chelsea team are not that special. Would not even say they were better or much mentally stronger than the Arsenal teams that were finishing 3rd to United and Chelsea 7 years ago.

Some big decisions for Mourinho like whether to sell Oscar, replace Willian and he needs to drop Cahill. Filipe Luis would play more, but he needs Cesar playing almost like a 3rd centre back.

I've seen it all now. Maybe, just maybe, he's been lambasted for being too defensive in the big games because he has spent his entire managerial career being defensive in the big games. When City fans say Nasri goes missing in the big games, it's because we don't change the way we play but he does very little. When Suarez was accused of being ineffective in Liverpool's big games, it was because they played the same way but his goalscoring record was far inferior to when they played Norwich City or Fulham. Maybe Fabregas seems to go missing because instead of going for the throat like Chelsea do against the little teams, he sets up to contain and nick the odd goal in games against the top teams like he has done at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Agreed. And in my earlier post, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they do as Chavs are showing signs of burning out rapidly. I would love to think otherwise but I see top 4 as:

Arse
Chavs
Us
Scousers

Arsenal are the best team in the league if they finish on top. Which they won't.

Exactly. There are a lot of short term memories about. It wasn't long ago that they were regularly
getting booed off the pitch and the hatred for Wenger was at a level never seen before.
They are on a good run at the moment, but this doesn't make them the best side in the league.
Maybe currently the best side.
