Chelsea Thread 2014/15

I don't get all this Chelsea are boring shite. I think they've played some good stuff this season. As it gets down to the business end, and the title is on the line, Mourinho sets his team up not to lose - knowing that he has the weapons available to also nick a goal. He sets his team up not to lose in the big games, and tactically is constantly altering how his team approaches each game, and is very proactive during games. I don't see an issue with any of this. I sense a lot of sour grapes.

People say they are boring, because they are boring. It's not complicated and it's not criticism of their ability, it's just that they play in a way that an awful lot of people find incredibly dull to watch. If you don't support a team involved in a game, then you are watching for the entertainment, which there is not a whole lot of in Chelsea matches against big sides.

I get that, but it's a bit overstated at the minute. I honestly think we've been boring for a while, but for some reason it's something we don't get labelled with - I'd say a lot of our fans agree given the empty seats recently.

They will win the league this season & deservedly so. They have been the best team overall. I still think we have better players than them, but we don't deserve anything, as our performances haven't been consitent enough.

We were playing badly, flat with a lack of tempo, which made for boring games, but we weren't doing it on purpose. For me, that's the difference. Chelsea deliberately set up to try and make the game as dull as possible, to spoil for the full 90 minutes.

Also, our games haven't exactly been dull, they are normally high scoring and involve an upset! (not great if you're the favourites, but none the less, exciting for the neutral)

Abramovich got shut of Mourhino for his boring anti-football first time round as did Real Madrid. I wouldn't have him as manager if he offered to do the job for free!

Mourinho is already one of the greats but I agree, I wouldn't want him at City as I couldn't bear watching his tedious football week in week out.

Football is about winning but the game itself was designed to entertain.

I can't imagine Eden Hazard enjoys having to defend more than he attacks.

The most amusing tripe i have hear trotted out by the pundits as it looks like Chelsea will win the league is ''Mourhino sets his teams up to win the big games and he is good at it.'' Oh really?? It didn't help him last season when we won the league and they were potless. Didn't help him when Paris St Germain knocked him out of the champions league did it? It is all part of the myth and hype that surround this moron.

I always want us to play attractive attacking football but we need to temper that with being a bit more solid otherwise we become Newcastle/Keegan mark 2.

Fair point. Why wasn't everyone in the press, plus all the other pundits, calling for Mourinho's sacking last season?
He won jack shit, came third, and this year went out of the CL at the same stage as us, having easier ties. Yes, he's won the
league and league cup this year, but Pelligrini won exactly the same last season, having not had the luxury of an open chequebook
due to FFP.

Pretty much how he always has played. He has a superb record against big teams in the league as well as the small teams. I think he plays most of the huge games for a draw and hopes for a sucker punch, a lot of the times it works against clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal. The rest of the season his club are flat track bullies.

I can't stand their brand of football personally but it's effective when they get it right.

It makes me laugh Arsenal fans singing boring boring Chelsea when they used to bore their way to the title during the George Graham era. I highly doubt it was tongue in cheek though as 80% of that stadium are modern day fans who never witnessed the shite show on offer. Graham had them playing a similar way
