Regardless of the supposed boring football they play,chelsea will be crowned champions and the team that finishes top after 38 games deserves it,hopefully our players when the season comes round again in August have the fire in their bellies to wrestle back the title from chelsea,let's finish this season in second place and get some quality signings bedded in for 2015/16...

100% they deserve it. Their football might not be to everyones taste but at the end of the season when they are lifting that trophy their fans won't give a shit how they got there. It was the kick up the arse we needed and we seriously need to nail our business this summer.

They will take some beating next season simply because of their consistency.

Only losing 2 games so far this season is astonishing really.

What gets me is that despite us scoring two more goals than them albeit conceding 9 more, that difference is 13 points, quite astonishing really in my opinion.

I wouldn't want their style of football at City though and I think we do have a better long term plan in place.

Chelsea are efficient when they need to be most of the time but like against PSG he is too scared to lose and sometimes will screw up because of his negative tactics.

If we were in the same position with 5 games to go, I wouldn't want my manager taking stupid risks. The problem with Maureen is he amasses the best talent for every position and in most cases best 2 players in Europe and plays negative tactics even when it's not really required.

George Graham's title winning side had the best defenders in the league by a country mile but not even a deluded goner would say n every other position we had the best players. He tailored the team to ther strength whch was to not concede because they couldn't score many.

But Maureen has, Hazard the best attacking player, Fabregas the best creator of chances, Matic the best CM, a back 4 that is(bar Cahill) immense. He doesn't play them to their strengths. Chelsea are good enough to hammer pretty much all bar a couple of teams with regular 3-0,4-1 score lines and still win the league. City, United and Arsene Wenger's Arsenal did it.

Chelsea fans are happy with playing like that now because it's a weak Arsenal/City/United up against them and they are just desperate to win the league so they'll accept it. When the others get stronger and sometimes the gamble fails like it started to do in 2006/07 then it'll be the Chelsea fans calling it boring. Just like they did in 2007.

Mourinho-ball has a shelf life with any team before they get sick of it,players and fans.

But we did do that. Go take a look at our results from the first half of the season. This supposed negative football comes against teams where we can't. We just dipped in form in the new year but remained consistent in picking up points. By the run-in we're just wrapping it up in cruise control. We dipped in form because he's just overworked some of our best players this season. This may be because he isn't happy with some squad players, I can't really say, but we reached a burnout threshold and cruised along. We'd built such a comfortable lead by then that it didn't matter any more.

We've been top or second in the scoring table all season. We're well ahead of the supposedly sublime Arsenal in that department and ahead of everyone defensively. I really don't see where the justification for this logically comes from unless your perception of this team is limited to big important games. I watch them every week and if you think we were playing the same way in the 3-6 against Everton, the 5-0 against Swansea, or any manner of others, I just don't know what to tell you. All that really matters on this point is whether I (as a fan) find them entertaining, and I certainly do. We've played some of the best quality of football this season since Ancelotti was here. We just didn't play balls to the wall in every game, no matter the cost; and we're winning the league by ~13 points in stead of 2.

So this line of criticism strikes me as a bitter jab at a caricature. The criticism should be directed at the chasing pack for being so far behind. This Chelsea team has a lot of room for improvement and Mourinho will take steps towards that for next season, like he did last season. But as far as the way he's setting them up to play goes, I'm perfectly happy with it. We're the most adaptable team in the league. Our philosophy is essentially to counter the opposition. If they like to defend deep and play long, we'll play an expansive game, stretch their lines and isolate their target men. If they like to play a possession game with the ball on the ground, we'll make the pitch small, cut off their channels and expose their high lines. We're like a chameleon, we'll change according to the environment we're in; and it's a huge part of our success this season.

It's a ll about opinions but I'm surprised that you think Chelsea's is only in being a counter attacking team.

Ironic that everyone thinks Hazard should be best player in the world but it won't happen till he moves clubs.

Chelsea have been the best team in the league and they will command the respect but you ask the neutral which teams are better to watch united 07/08 team, city 11/12 team Arsenal 01/02 team,Chelsea 09/10 team or Chelsea 05/06 and 14/15.

Mourinho teams always efficient and effective not a criticism but a reality. I wouldn't pay to watch but then I'm not a Chelsea fan.
Before anyone says it, close to the end of Graham's reign most gooners were getting sick of the style too.

Disagree with you on just one point there, he is a great. You can't win what he has without being a great .

But I agree with everything else and why does he have such a big chip on his shoulder, he's won everything so who cares what others say. Smacks of the mans insecurity.
