Chelsea will be right up there challenging this season. Tuchel has got a strong squad well organised and more importantly believing in his tactics. If we are the benchmark to be measured by he's beaten us in the league, the fa cup and the champions league final. He's added pace, power and goals in Lukaku.

Some here can call him boring and he plays negative football but at the end of the day winning is all that counts. If you can play attractive football as well it's a bonus and we've been blessed to do that with Pep. Rest assured though, as he's already proven, Tuchel and Chelsea are big rivals.

They never do. They want a player, they meet the price, they get the player.

People say this often, but I don't always feel like we do that. If we did, John Stones would be a Chelsea player. So would Modric 10 years ago. Or Haaland this summer, Lukaku in 2017. Koulibaly, Alex Sandro, etc.

I think we get this reputation of being ruthless from just a handful of transfers over the years, but I don't think we're anymore ruthless in general than City or other clubs :)

Agree 100%

This could be a good sporting rivalry over next couple of seasons if its allowed by the powers that be who are more determined at keeping two red shirted teams more relevant than they deserve to be.

I'm sure the pundits will come out with all the usual stereotypes about us having an unfair advantage because our squad is so much bigger and better than everyone else's. Meanwhile, Chelsea will be painted as the plucky underdogs despite having just as much strength in depth as us.

GK Mendy, Kepa
RB James, Azpilicueta
LB Chilwell, Alonso, Palmieri
CB Thiago Silva, Zouma, Christensen, Rudiger
MID Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount, Ziyech
FWD Lukaku, Werner, Havertz, Pulisic

Chelsea are weird you know. They play more like City than Liverpool, but they tend to grind results out in the way Liverpool did rather than completely outplaying their opposition like City do.

They're a very difficult team to play against since Tuchel came in. I'm stating the obvious here but the two games against Chelsea feel like they will be title deciders.
