I looked where Lille were in Ligue 1: 11th!. But they are French champions. The team of Hatem Ben Arfa, Burak Yilmaz, Jose Fonte (ex Southampton). They are all well into their 30s so probably wont play.

Yes it could be a huge problem if Abramovic is included in sanctions which would stop him from having any dealings with any UK entities. How do Chelsea carry on as they are without his financial clout ? What about his loan money in the club ? He certainly wouldn't be able to put any more in, nor get any of it out.
No doubt there will be a few Chelsea supporters in high places who will find a way around it. The odd brown manilla envelope across the Cabinet table should do it.

Abramovich isn't among the 3 named. According to BBC News they're Timchenko, B Rotenberg & I Rotenberg.
Doesn't mean he won't be added to the list in due course though.

Or something. It's hard to find accurate information or non-biased information, so it's difficult to know or quantify how it's going to impact Chelsea, if at all.

I think this action will go down very well with the Russian people.

It is a populist move by Ras, and I doubt he would have gone ahead with it, if he thought that his compatriots were against it.

He loves Chelsea to much to sell up. Will he stop putting money in when needed as a loan still I think he will. Nowt will change chelsea be fine.

I think that they will be stripped of all titles that they have won since Abramovich took over, so basically they go back to being a occasional cup winning team.
And obviously their CL win in 2021*will be awarded to the runners up - Gods own team!!!
