Imagine being a Chelsea fan thinking you're gonna get Naggelsman or Enrique and you end up with Lampard. They are basically tapping out of the UCL

If that club wasn’t Chelsea in the state it was in, you’d be right. But it wasn’t a normal situation of walking into a top club with a balanced 24 man squad and a sane-ish person at the top

He walked into the most chaotic version of Chelsea Football Club that has ever existed. Run by a lunatic Yank who makes the Glazers look like, well, our very own Sheikh.

Nobody could manage a squad that size and with that many new faces all squabbling with each other. Tuchel was already struggling to handle Boehly FC before that influx happened.

If-and-when Potter gets to manage a sane top club, we’ll test your hypothesis. But that hypothesis simply hasn’t been tested yet, because of numerous extra variables working against him.
Correct. Throw in a world cup midseason. A ridiculous amount of games prior to the world cup without a preseason after a manager was sacked and the season started. Anyone would have struggled.

Nagelsmann wanted to take a bit of a break to recharge didn’t he? I can only assume they are going the interim route because their actual target (Nagelsmann) is only available in the summer? But then again, it is Chelsea so you never know.

It’s like every gift you ever got from your nan for Christmas: the discount or knock off version of the thing you actually asked for. Only, in this case, it’s the exact same gift she got you last year.

“This the Umbro jacket you wanted?”

[looks at the bright yellow and pink Orbmu cagoule and tries to hide his disappointment]

“Yeah, gran, this is exactly the one.”

This scattergun approach both in signing players and hiring and firing managers is crazy. Lampard nice bloke, but don't rate him as a coach.

Wasn’t he in the stands last night? I’m sure sky will make a big song and dance about it. Like the time they lied and said Mancini was in the stands for hughes last game!

Different set of players from last time.
We might be laughing on the other side of our face after a few weeks, he might get a tune out of this squad, he'll give the place a lift as the neanderthals they have in the stands will have already forgot his previous stint.
Be interesting from afar to see how it unfolds.

I'd be dissapointed if Enrique goes there as I always thought he'd be the perfect candidate to succeed Guardiola.

Oh well I guess Pep will just have to stay forever now.

Agreed. But I’ve come to terms with the fact we either get them now and lose Pep or lose them to other jobs and keep Pep. I know which I’d prefer!

As long as De Zerbi is available still!!

They still might. Naggelsmann doesn't want to join midseason. Maybe Enrique doesn't either.

This literally cannot get any better. Well, maybe if Mourinho was an option for the final hire.

I hope Lampard does just well enough to get the final position. It would be hilarious.
