I don`t get the Aubameyang signing IMO he`s another stiff who was found out at Chelsea.

I'm not sure to be honest. He sounds like a short-term deal to tide us over until a striker we want is on the market or Havertz somehow levels up to where we want him to be.

Was talking about Cucurella. But I've been pretty satisfied with what I've seen from Sterling so far (preseason and the first game vs Everton).
He’s a good lad Raz but he was increasingly frustrating towards the end of his City career, I hope he does well for you (relatively). As for Cucurella, I agree, he looked very comfortable in your side, think he will be a very good player and could be Spain’s left back ahead of an ageing Jordi Alba come the WC.

Sorry meant Arsenal. Still think he`s a problem and wouldn`t want anywhere near or squad, Cucurella will be really good I think. Sterling I think you will see the good and the infuriating.

If we call him The Fof then that'll make up for spending £80m-£90m on him.

De Jong and Aubameyang as well, that's a £300m+ transfer window.

Anything other than a title challenge is an abject failure.

Well considering a lot of these players are just replacing outgoing players, it's hard to make the argument that we have to challenge for the title. If we spent £200m on top of the squad from the last season with minimal outgoings, I'd have said yes sure, we have to at least challenge, but look at the list of players who are leaving;

Rudiger
Christensen
Werner
Lukaku

On their way out too;

Alonso
Ziyech

So far we've signed.

Sterling (Werner replacement)
Koulibaly (Rudiger replacement)
Cucurella (Alonso replacement)

Potentially on their way in:

Fofana (Christensen replacement)
Aubameyang (Lukaku replacement)
De Jong - the only player who can be seen as a sort of a luxury signing.

We've just been plugging holes left by outgoing players. I still think we're a better team/squad than last season but I don't think those changes make up for a 20 point gap in one season. Next season, if we continue to rebuild the team, I'd expect a title challenge.

You're talking to a guy who had to watch Lukaku and Werner last season. I think I'll be fairly happy with Sterling haha.

I'm buzzing with Cucurella though. He looks excellent.

I think his problems at Arsenal stems from his issues with Arteta. He was a pretty reliable goal scorer for them until it suddenly went downhill.

Alot of Chelsea fans were saying Sterling looked a class above the rest of your attack, which probably says more about the rest of your attack and certainly speaks volumes about how far you’re trailing City.

I wouldn't say he's looked a class above everyone in attack. I think Mount has shown through preseason that he's up there as out most important players. But yeah, Sterling has looked a class above a lot of the others like Werner, Lukaku, Ziyech, Pulisic etc.

I’m just so gutted. We dominated the entire game, if the ref had just done his job, we would have ran out deserved winners m.
Not disagreeing on the balance of the game but, playing devils advocate, having 16 shots and only getting 3 on target likely contributed as well.
Pep knows that, if you make mistakes in either box, you’re at the mercy of events, which is why I’d imagine Foden got a monster bollocking yesterday for not squaring the ball for a certain goal…..

For sure, our failings in front of goal is our own fault, we should have been out of sight but we still scored enough goals to legitimately win the game and that’s what’s so frustrating.
