Big gamble for Potter. A lot of his squad handpicked for him and I daresay a good amount of them not fit for purpose, so they'll have to put their hands in their pockets again and again. Going to be interesting, a penny for Raheems thoughts....(although I do think a manager like Potter can get the best out of him).
What gamble?

A huge job, huge pay packet and a hugely ambitious coach.

He simply can't lose and signing that contact gives him lifetime financial security.

Good luck to him, great manager/coach in the making.

Brighton’s owner is a smart cookie. He will have anticipated that Potter would go to a big club sooner or later and will already know his shortlist. I’m not well up enough on the championship to guess. Maybe a foreigner?

I can’t help but have huge sympathy with Brighton fans. Just as they start to improve season on season building in the right way their whole coaching staff is poached along with their best players.

What realistically do Brighton fans have to look forward to? They will never challenge for European places as if they do they will lose their players and/or staff. So how do they progress further? Thoroughly depressing really unless you are a fan of a “big 6” club
Reminds me of the days back before the transfer windows. Any striker who had a bit of form would just end up subject to endless rumours. It would get to the point where a top player at a small club having a stormer of a game would come with it an inevitability that they would be gone within a few weeks to whatever top club was struggling at that point.

Yeah, just read the B&HA twitter and it seems the whole management has upped and decamped to The Bridge. How do Brighton get someone in to maintain their position at this time of the season.

Southampton would like this post.
