Posting with glee..

Get to fcuk..!

It's a fkin sad state of affairs that by the Looks of it, City are the fall guys for all things FFP..

Can you blame people for venting their disgust when Chelsea, the rags and dippers have all come a cropper of these fkin bent rules and have received not even a slap in the wrist..

Your club along with the other 2 mentioned are fkin cheats and don't you forget it..

I won’t get into an argument with you about this. I’ve responded to a few now with what I think. I’ll leave you to it.

Yep and City have been proven not to have broken any ffp by CAS. Yet these teams have all cheated

Yep. I get that Chelsea fans want to show their club in the best light, but "sailing too close to the wind" is a little disingenuous. Incomplete reporting for FFP has been accepted by Chelsea and the fine is a punishment for breaching the regulations, presumably in respect of providing accurate financial information that gives a true and fair view. Sound familiar?

Except City don't accept that the club has done that. In fact, City have never been punished for breaching FFP, other than for non-compliance with an investigation. In 2012 the club settled without admitting guilt (big mistake that was, in hindsight). In 2020 there was no evidence of any UEFA FFP breaches, other than non-disclosure. And the 2023 PL charges are merely allegations being challenged.

But whatever floats Chelsea's boat I suppose.
Good to hear from you bro.

All I can say is my position must be reasonably sound if you're having to take issue with my terminology

Amen.

Isn't there a thread over on the Bluemoon page dedicated to City's fight against the forces of evil?

I mean I understand why so many are in here, after what they’ve been through.

I’ve been here for years and one thing that has served me well has been to take a step back when the locals are upset and and come back when it’s calmed down. But not before responding to a few posts so no one can say I’m dodging the issue.

That is literally what happened. When this minor infraction was discovered by the new ownership during the sales process over 12 months ago, they notified UEFA and waited for their decision. When Boehly said Chelsea were complaint with FFP, it was always in response to his ownership’s spending, and he would be entirely accurate.

I understand why City fans are flocking into this thread in their droves posting with glee, I won’t get in the way of that.
I'm not sure how you attributed that quote to me, as it wasn't made by me.

I've nothing against you or Chelsea, and I doubt most City fans have to be honest. Our gripe is with the unfairness from UEFA and the PL.

Boehly apparently found these discrepancies during his due diligence process and notified UEFA over a year ago. Why therefore has it just come to light? (Same with United). When we were charged, it seemed every man and his dog got to know about every detail of the process before even the club.

Another point that seems to be overlooked is that this isn't a minor infraction. The false reporting started in 2012 and continued until 2019. That sounds like a deliberate cover up to me.

City were fined €10m for failing to assist with a UEFA enquiry. It seems unfair that Chelsea are fined the exact same amount for actually breaking FFP rules for seven consecutive years.

Yet another player signed for 25m, 800 m spent in the last three windows so far but barely a negative comment thrown their way from the media. We have never gone on such reckless spending sprees, our big spending was done in Pep's first couple of seasons. Boehly looks like he just has a scattergun approach to things, but it's obviously fine and dandy to keep spending as much as they want

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes for €27m (£23.1m).

Ugochukwu came through the academy at Rennes and has gone on to make 60 appearances for the club, including 35 in all competitions last season. He also has 6 caps for France u19s.

Another exciting youngster joins our ranks. The lad is predominantly a CDM.

My apologies. I don’t know why it added you into the quote and attributed some of the quote to you. I was only responding to @Manc in London.

The thing is, we don’t know if it was continuous infractions or as little as two infractions that were 7 years apart, and we don’t know nature of the infractions, but it was reported to have minor infractions so you can’t with any degree of confidence say rules were broken for 7 consecutive years. I’m sure more will come out in the future as these sports investigative journalists get their teeth stuck into this.

Probably wise, as you always (normally) are but before you take a step back, can you actually explain what this minor infraction was that took place over 8 years and warranted a 10 million fine?

I can give a pretty good explanation of what I think the charges are against City and why we are confident about our case based on information in the public domain.

What do we actually know about Chelsea's misdemeanours?
