Bought sanchez from Brighton for £25m.
Biy of a strange one for me. They've now got 2 keepers who are OK - but just OK.
Neither are good enough to help them mount a title challenge but both are too good to be happy sitting on the bench all season and they will both think they are better than the other so will be pissed off if they don't start.
And on a 7-year contract!

They bloody love a 7-year contract!!!

Here are my numbers if anyone cares. The required profit on player sales on these numbers are c.£133m and £312m for 22/23 (just ended) and 23/24 (current FY) respectively. Numbers can swing £25m on both revenues and costs probably but that could easily be a negative swing.

And that’s before they finish their transfer business this summer.

What do you think is going to come of this ultimately?

I have assumed their spending leads to £240m amortisation in 2023/24. Could be higher. Unlikely to be lower. That is the only place where the buying hits this calc (they would also need to raise cash of course). Selling hits the player trading profits/losses. I'm sure ideally they would sell Sterling and Cucurella but they would need around £40m for Sterling and £45m for Cucurella just for those sales to be P&L neutral.

I think it ends with them failing one or both years. They are obviously hoping that they have allowances for 22/23 so let Mount go into 23/24 to smooth the level of deficit.

Just out of interest, do you know the amortised value of the players sold because what affects FFP isn't the cash you receive, but the profit or loss you make and the wages that come off the books, not the cash received ....
Hehe it's almost as though fans of other clubs have no idea how things work & just believe any old shit in the media.

FIFA outlines it should be, but I don’t know if it’s written into the rule book. Either that, or Chelsea are offering some form of 5+2 years, or just ignoring the guidance.
The length of contract can be anything the parties want, but the fee will now be amortised over 5 years max.

Na, even without bonus payments and Agents fees you’ve spent net 500m Euro’s in the past 12 months. That’s not including Sanchez or the 100m you will buy Caceido for. I think @projectriver had already done the research and you’re breaking FFP rules. Will be so funny to see how you are dealt with.

White Murican owned - different rules apply

We have been told for years that its all money, money buys the league etc etc, why arent chelse overwhelming favourites for the league?

Wheres the faux outrage from the press?
