Yes but we were getting out timings wrong. It's not like they didn't know what to do. The timings was just off. The first 15-20 mins after the second red the attacker would either run offside or he'd time his run right but the ball was overhit. Once we found the sweet spot, as I said, we were getting in on goal every 2 mins and we scored 3 goals.
Credit to Spurs players for still managing to create a chance or two, to be fair.
Caicedo played well, I thought, but Enzo was a disaster.Respectfully disagree.
Congrats on the result, through gritted teeth of course lol
I didn't think Son's goal was offside personally, they showed one level and the second screenshot with a different frame looked offside.
Saying that I didn't think Caceidos goal was offside either. Very unusual, but then I guess that worked against Romero but he was a ticking time bomb anyway so no complaints there
I don't really understand offside anymore, for Jackson's first goal he's 5 yards offside but they concentrate on Sterling. I'm so confused with the rule these days maybe you know better than me
It was just a matter of when you would score not if, Sterling kept trying to time his run, it was always on the cards. Some last ditch challenges form Pierre and wonder saves from Vicario kept us hanging on by a thread.
You're right though, we did try to have a pop back. Bentacur maybe should have scored, Sonny comes close near the end and Dier unlucky to stray offside.
Can't complain too much about the result. The injuries and suspensions are worse than the actual result for us. It ended up being a nightmare on all fronts.
I still think you need that striker and you'll be be right up there. I still think Liverpool and City are miles ahead of everyone, but even City are easily ahead of Liverpool in my opinion
Caicedo played well, I thought, but Enzo was a disaster.
Both are clearly very good players in my opinion. 2/3rds of a very effective midfield, if you put Kevin or Bernardo in front of them instead of Conor Gallagher then they would probably be receiving a lot more plaudits!
He was a key member but we all know that if Raheem has a one on one, he will most likely flub it. If he has time to think, he most likely flubbed it. He scored many goals and was integral to a lot of our success but let’s be honest here and at least understand where I come fromHow many goals did he score for us ? He is clumsy and misses chances but he was a key member of our team, i dont get why he still cops it everytime he plays even for somebody else
Thanks mate. It was a bonkers game but to be fair you do have a habit of losing your heads against us :)
I actually do agree with you about the offsides. I was saying to my mate as they were checking Son’s goal that I hate it when they chalk off super duper tight offside goals like that. Son was not gaining any advance by having his toenail in an offside position.
I totally agree with you about the injuries and suspensions being worse than the result itself. Sounds like Van set Ven will miss several weeks now, and not sure about Maddison. Those two will be huge misses as well as Romero for 3 games. We’ll see what Spurs and Ange are made of now with key players missing.
I think this will be the end of our run now. I'm hoping VDV isn't serious but if it's a grade 3 tear then this is worrying, even for his own game in the future. Fingers crossed it's not serious. We will be having a makeshift defence with Udogie and Romero suspended and VDV injured. We have already lost Solomon and Perisic to long term ligament damage too. No word on Maddisons injury either.
Whats the chances you get a top striker in the window? Who do you fancy to go upfront? I know he got a hat-trick but I would reckon it would be ideal for a better one up top. You haven't had a beast since Diego Costa
If they'd have concentrated on football rather than kicking fook out of the opposition they would have won comfortably.Your mob played very well, even with 9 men you shown team spirit.
