I haven't seen that story about a new striker, but it wouldn't surprise me given that we chased Osimhen so hard in the summer window.

Yeah that kid is only 15. I've seen some clips going around with that stat you mention. Not much to say other than, although I watched youth football at times, I don't keep up with players as young as that. I usually start taking them seriously once they start playing for the U19-U21 teams.
Yes the new striker story was def based around the pursuit of Osimhen.ie still after a top name
It appears your new manager will not settle for mediocrity this season. Bodes well and team spirit seems high, even from those not selected or Injured.

Hey mate what was that at the swamp today ? with the exception of Caicedo who was very good you looked totally out of it, Lavia made Enzo Fernandez look like Rodri out there, is his passing usually that bad ?

Just looked at the cost of that Chelsea team today.....

Sanchez 23m

Gusto 30m
Fofana 80m
Colwill Academy?
James Academy?

Caicedo 116m
Lavia 62m

Madueke 35m
Palmer 47m
Neto 60m

Jackson 37m

All those figures in euros. I make that €490m. And that's only the starting XI, no subs included. For that sort of wedge, I'd be expecting a lot more than we saw out there.

You could get 3 Maguire’s and 2 Antony’s for that sort of cash!!

We were crap yesterday. We’re still a work in progress though, with the new manager and a very young squad who are bound to show inconsistencies. With City, Arsenal and Villa losing, it was a good chance to gain points on them but sadly not to be.

I don’t see the point listing transfer fees. There’ll always be inconsistencies from game to game, especially when the plan has clearly been to target young inexperienced players who can hopefully grow together as a team. Judging them on one game as you have here seems unhelpful.

What I'm saying is that, for that outlay, I'd be expecting a higher level of display. That was disjointed yesterday. And it's not over one game. There's been several such performances so far this season.

As I said, new coach, young squad, disjointed performances will happen. There’s not a single team that haven’t had several disjointed performances, including City, so not sure what pointing out transfer fees adds to the discussion.

For that sort of outlay, you would expect a decent keeper. Sanchez is poor. Didn’t they have 5 at one time?
