I only saw the last twenty minutes of extra time. Was the ref that favourable to Chelsea all night? He seemed a right homer
Drogba dived and cheated all night and the ref fell for it every time too.

When else did he dive or cheat then. As bad as that was Drogba was like a man possessed last night

Torres still looks like a striker afraid to score,or rather miss.
The commentators we had over here were talking about how he turned down the chance to take a penalty last week. I've no idea what they were talking about, but if that was indeed the case then it tells you absolutely everything you need to know about his mindset.

A striker who's scared of missing, is not going to score you any goals. It really is as simple as that.

Torres had a great chance to score when he was one on one with the Napoli keeper, but couldn't. Otherwise, he did provide support to Drogba when he came on, and Napoli had a tough time trying to contain both them..
Not sure what to think of him as a player now. He did not even seem to be interested when Chelsea got through to the next stage.. Di Matteo actually ran to him and jumped on him, and you could see Torres was totally surprised with this..
A striker who has lost his spark so much that he does not even seem to be interested in the game anymore..

It does lead to me to wonder whether it's solely footballing issues that he has in his head at the moment.

That being said, I thought he played extremely well when he came on yesterday. Yes, he should have scored but his all round play was pretty decent. Seemed to change the game when he came on which is not something that has been said all to often as of late.

yes, I thought the same during the game..good player who's too scared to score a goal. Maybe now the best option would be to convert him into an attacking midfielder or winger?

Also, how did you rate Cavani in this game? Is he as good as everyone says he is, or just good in counter-attacking situations? (I don't watch Serie A)
I thought he was average, though maybe he was following some strategy set by the coach, which ultimately failed..

I think he's just a lethal goalscorer and would revel in the Prem with good service.

He'd be a dream player for Arsenal IMO

The commentators shouldn't be completely impartial, but should have pointed out the amount of diving fouling and cheating generally, that chelsea were doing. Their winning goal came from a free kick gained by one of Drogba's many, many dives. But they were just turning a blind eye.

Drogba hacks down a Napoli player and goes down clutching his face and gets a free kick, was just one of many ridiculous examples of bad refereeing today.

i only saw one drogba dive

Torres did nothing on the ball. He did well defencively though.

Another CL classic. Even I didn't expect that as I thought we'd just left too much work to do in the first leg. I'm quite confident of going far in the competition now, and most fear drawing Madrid. We've always been good at stifling Barca's style and I'd fancy us against Bayern if playing with the same sort of commitment as last night. But we wont beat Madrid because of Jose. He'll mindfuck our players in the tunnel like he did with Inter.

Drogba was top drawer last night. Brilliant performance. Napoli couldn't cope with him at all.
