Chelsea vs. City - 21/02/16 - FA Cup 5th Round - Pre Match Thread

Am I completely on my own by asking why we can't put a half decent team out tomorrow. Here are my reasons:
1) We have a much better chance of winning the FA cup than the CL
2) Kiev is two legged and we are capable of getting at least a draw even with half a side
3) Reading / Everton / Hull or Arsenal are through so far, home draw and you would fancy us for yet another trip to wembley
4) For me the league is going to be tough to win as we have 3 teams to chase rather than one and we are simply not good enough to put a sustained run together so why not just play each game in isolation and so where it takes us

Can't believe we are just going to toss off a place in the quarter final why can't we go with

Willy
Zabba MDM Otamendi.Kolarov
Fernando
Garcia. Yaya
Sterling. Kelechi aguero ( take Sergio off after he puts us two up)
I'd tend to agree. I''d leave Fernandinho out, then judgement calls would have to be made on Silva, Kompany and Aguero (i.e. whether its considered better to rest them or to give them minutes to try and get them fully up to speed). I'd go full strength as far as possible beyond that - assuming no-one else is struggling, of course.
If we then have to bring a couple of the kids in mid-week, so be it. Be better for them - and a clearer signal of our faith in youth - to play a couple alongside the first team against Kiev, than to send five or six out like lambs to the slaughter against Chelsea.

How much would it hurt if the unthinkable happened and we chucked the towel in tomorrow, Arsenal go out and the rags end up winning it!

Fair fucks:

Guy Mowbray: "If Manuel Pellegrini stays true to his hint about fielding younger players at Stamford Bridge, then at least one viewer won't mind too much - although Pep Guardiola's professional attentions will more be focused on Bayern Munich's game at Juventus on Tuesday.

"The man he'll replace at the Etihad says injuries and Manchester City's Champions League trip to Kiev will force him to 'prioritise', and that means we'll all get a glimpse of the 'junior Blues'. Don't let that put you off watching though. They're good - that's why they're there.

"Chelsea are good again too, and Guus Hiddink WILL play a strong side as he attempts to replicate the FA Cup win that gave him so much pleasure in 2009."

No otamendi, Aguero, silva or Yaya in the squad tomorrow. Kompany is in the squad as well as iheanacho, sterling, both ferns, Zaba, Kolarov and clichy.

youngsters tosin, celina, barker, faupaula, both garcias, humphreys

Fair point but if we can't beat Kiev over two games with the squad we have then we might as well pack it in!
I'm glad those in charge don't share your arrogance. Kiev aren't some plucky non league team there for the taking, they are a quality outfit in the last 16 of the Champions League and deserve all the respect that goes with that.

Me Mum made chicken kievs for tea, earlier in the week.

They were good, but not as good as I remember them.

At the second time of asking, I dumped them out.

Needless to say, the game was mine!
