I'd tend to agree. I''d leave Fernandinho out, then judgement calls would have to be made on Silva, Kompany and Aguero (i.e. whether its considered better to rest them or to give them minutes to try and get them fully up to speed). I'd go full strength as far as possible beyond that - assuming no-one else is struggling, of course.Am I completely on my own by asking why we can't put a half decent team out tomorrow. Here are my reasons:
1) We have a much better chance of winning the FA cup than the CL
2) Kiev is two legged and we are capable of getting at least a draw even with half a side
3) Reading / Everton / Hull or Arsenal are through so far, home draw and you would fancy us for yet another trip to wembley
4) For me the league is going to be tough to win as we have 3 teams to chase rather than one and we are simply not good enough to put a sustained run together so why not just play each game in isolation and so where it takes us
Can't believe we are just going to toss off a place in the quarter final why can't we go with
Willy
Zabba MDM Otamendi.Kolarov
Fernando
Garcia. Yaya
Sterling. Kelechi aguero ( take Sergio off after he puts us two up)
If we then have to bring a couple of the kids in mid-week, so be it. Be better for them - and a clearer signal of our faith in youth - to play a couple alongside the first team against Kiev, than to send five or six out like lambs to the slaughter against Chelsea.
