Ah ha taken from the UEFA accounts for the season 2005-06 Liverpool received 16.9m Swiss Francs and Chelsea 28m Swiss Francs from the TV marketing pool despite both being knocked out at the 1st knock-out round.

Clearly Liverpool were indeed treated as 4th for the TV revenue so fuck the Daily Fail story.

Also clearly I am a bit OCD so no need to point that out.

Good job

Daily Fail dreaming up a non-story for a headline.

I'm 99% sure they can't retrospectively change the rules on tournament prize money after the end of the season. Not without being challenged in court anyway and if there is already a precedent set for payout details they'd pretty much lose hands down that I can see.

I don't see how this can be accurate. When Liverpool qualified as Champions they were treated as the 4th placed English team and had to play in the qualifying rounds. I am sure the same logic was applied to the TV money.

UEFA can't change their position having set the precedence then.

Sounds like another Daily Fail to me.

The rules changed after that to stop the fiasco of what happened

Why is there a whole 'the rules cant change! nobody told me they had!' mentality, if rules couldn't change we'd still only be getting 2 points for a frigging win the league!

Completely irrelevant. It was widely reported that the rules were changed after the Liverpool/Everton fiasco.

and we lose out 10% of the moneys whereas the scum only lose out on 5% as do the Arse, now that seems fair!
Sorry for being pedantic, but that's percentage points we've lost, not percentages. City and Arsenal are actually 25% down each, while United have only taken a hit of 16.7%.

It still means we and arsenal lose out to a larger extent than scum, and Chelsea gain

Not completely irrelevant the rules were changed with regard to qualification to the group stage not share of TV money which is why they need an Executive ruling. If you can show me the UEFA ruling or even reports of a UEFA ruling that the titleholder will be treated on a par with the league winner for TV money then fair enough. Although even then its not 'completely irrelevant' as its the only time its happened in the Premier League before.

Also 10% of the total monies IS a 25% reduction in our share duh.
