Their supporters will still go irrespective of who is playing live to air in the premiership on tv.
The technolgy exists to show games live to to your smart phone as has been the case in oz for sometime now so if you can kill two birds so to speak you can watch both at the same time and if you prefer the big screen you can send the app to your home tv to replay at your leisure.
The extra rights for showing all games live can be used to prop up some of the struggling clubs in the lower leagues.
There is no reason why any club in England should go into administration especially if your modelled your broadcasts rights on the AFL model.
Private ownership is always an issue because if the owner pulls the plug the consequences could be dire ala Rangers.
We went from some private ownership to full membership based clubs here in oz and an independent commission responsible for management of the game at all levels from the elite to junior level and oz kick.
The game of AFL is in a very healthy state.
How many fully professional teams in the AFL?

18 TEAMS Not much shy of most Euro leagues at the top level.
22 players a side play each week and squads are 38-42 in size.
The top players earn about as much as an average championship/ league one player does in a season.
No private ownership , salary caps and no transfer fees help keep most if not all clubs cash flow positive with minimal debt.
Players in what we call the second tier competition are mostly fully professional as well and are feeder clubs to their AFL equivalent.
Plus the 100s of non league teamsBilboblue said:mancity1 said:Bilboblue said:How many fully professional teams in the AFL?

92 teams in England, it wouldn't take long for a LOT of lower league teams to go bust if they showed all Premier league games live.
