Wigan have been in a battle to avoid the drop for a number of seasons now and they haven't recruited as well as they would have liked.

You have no idea how well or not Wigan or Reading will do. Look at Swansea and Norwich last season.


Chelsea are a good team but they currently based on the most recent history we have finished some 29 points behind two sides last season after 38 games.

Correct but they have strengthened considerably in certain positions and wont purposely 'down tools' like they did last season under AVB. They won the CL for fucks sake. They are (already were) a good side.

I expect they will strenghten their squad even further before August 31 but at least at this stage of the season I would have to draw a long bow to conclude they can make up not only that difference with the inclusion of Hazard , no Drogba and a striker who is sadly out of form and I see little in him to convince me that he will improve this season on what he did last season , on the two Manchester Clubs as well as the likes of Spurs and Arsenal.

You claim Torres is 'out of form' but you are basing that on what? 2 prem games? I thought your argument centered on the fact that we shouldn't be drawing conclusions after 2 games? You contradict your own logic.

Torres has been below par since well before Liverpool turfed him out.

Drogba continued to carry the forntline for Chelsea in the Chumps League last season and without him Chelsea wouldn't have got past the group stages in a group far inferior to ours .

So say they have improved in certain positions on the basis of two games where the only new player of any note has even played considerable game time is Hazard FFS.

I reckon time will show this year most pundits will have a better assessment of how Reading and Wigan will fare than your inflated unjustifiable opinions of Chelski after two games.

Lets see how far they are behind Manure for example after 28 games and then we can make a better assessment of how they are travelling.

Most pundits and some like me were fooled by Spurs title push well into the new year where as mooners such as Moomba were never convinced and he was spot on about his thoughts.

By then there may be a side in France or Russia calling for Torres if he likes the scenary.

Only a person who knows he cannot support any of the assertions he has made resorts to such lines as " I have never known anybody who talks such sh... as etc etc".

I notice once again SR you fail to address the issues you raise and the issues I raised in response and like a poor politician you make a feeble attempt to deflect the real issue and spout more dribble.

If you really care to focus on spelling and grammar take a good look at your own posts and you will find them riddled with errors.

I only pointed out of them of them in a recent post because it seems you have a fixation about it (LOL).

The main point about this discussion is you have asserted that Chelsea will be there or there abouts at seasons end and have improved in a number of positions on the basis of two games against sides that most believe will be struggling to stay in this league.

The fact that you have been given ample time to elaborate on the why's the who's and give at least some concrete evidence to support those assertions and all you can to respond is to focus on spelling and grammar ( your by the way leaves a lot to be desired sorry to say ) and other irrelevant spiel clearly suggests to me that you cannot and most likely will not even attempt to justify your assertions.

This is fine by the way as its a forum of opinion and you probably lack the experience and expertise to elaborate on generalisations that we all make form time to time without having given proper thought to why we make them in the first place.

If you make sweeping statements like to ones you have made SR don't be surprised if from time to time someone actually reads them and asks you to justify or support your claim with some concrete evidence to support it.

Torres may come good he may drift further into the abyss and won't be the last big money player to fail miserably at Chelsea.

Despite having the majority of possession and shots on target any neutral observer could not have been impressed by that performance.

It fell far short of team with aspirations on a title this season.

As for Hazard well I have said my piece and what will be interesting is how he goes against more physical defenders as he is lightly framed.

While the early signs are encouraging for him its way too early to make the sweeping statements you make other than to state the obvious that two wins from two is encouraging.

If you want to reply please address the issues and state where and in what numbers they have improved and why they will be a force this season and where they will make inroads into the 29 point gap ( a huge gap mind you ).

Terry and Lampard and other oldies aint getting any younger and are getting slower and it seems they are still being thought of as keys to their campaign this season which would be a major worry to me if I supported them.

I have in previous posts in this thread if you want to read them pudge.

There is no place for cyberbullies on this forum and what you wrote above ( my sincere apologies to you if you didn't pen it but it has your name attached to it and you havn't denied it not being attributed to you ) is not what this forum is about.

You will not be the last one to do so unfortunately and we have mods on here to delete and ban posters who overstep the mark.

If you want to make as issue with a poster like Tevez City personal you can do so off this site and while like you his comments on the outcome of Wednesday game I like you think are naive , premature and I am sure cannot be substantiated by Tevez City , its an opinion only and you can put you counter points across without having to tell him to f... off irrespective of whether he supports City or not.
