Cheltenham Festival 2016 - Discussion Thread

Go on Nina, good girl, great ride well timed.

Fair play to Pendleton.

I bhet later when she watches the replay that she will think she could have won and you know maybe she could have if she set it off 50 yards earlier, cracking ride and all respect to her but Nina is also a top jockey male or female.

She probably should have placed but to say she would have won is pushing a bit, still she did very well. Got a lot of time for Nina, had some good wins with her at the festival over the years, would be good if she got a decent ride in the National and becomes the first woman rider to win it.

Her horse was finishing by far the strongest, not getting at her or anything btw and I agree it is time Nina got a top top horse to make history in the national.

Well all over and I walked away with just over £300 profit and that is not to be sneezed at, my big bet of the day was close but no cigar.

Don Cossack, On the Fringe, Flying Angel and Rock the World in a series of trebles doubles and an e/w acc, it would have paid for a new bathroom and put me in the good books for months lol

Altior will be in the Champion next year. Currently 8/1. Nicky Henderson reckons it's the best novice he's trained
and he's had some good uns. It's a long way off and a lot can happen till then. But with a run, remember you heard it here first.

I think your right there Alf, that little of experience but it is to be expected after only a year.
I see she is a doubt for the National under some rule or other but the more she rides (yes, i know) the better she will get (yes i know).

If you watch her the entire race she maybe had 2 wobbles but when she loosened the reins to let the horse speed up it was very smooth, as was her progress through the last mile, she should if she wants to continue be offered rides by somebody, of course that might be it for her, she has done what she set out to do, job complete etc etc ?
