China - Impressions.

Been to Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong all with work. People seemed friendly enough. Hong Kong had some shady areas but still felt safer than most areas of any big UK city at night. They don’t skimp on police which probably adds to the feeling of being safe and if something does happen they don’t fuck about.

Would I be in a rush to go back for a holiday, no, but both Shanghai and Hong Kong are both interesting enough stopping off points on the way to somewhere else. Still fancy going to Beijing in the future however.

I worked offshore there in the 90’s and spent a good deal of time in Shanghai and a place called Ningbo.. The people were really friendly and welcoming everywhere I went ..
Don’t think they had seen many westerners in Ningbo as they followed us around the place chattering like birds and pointing at us…

I’d like to go back one day ..

Ningbo?

I always thought that was in Wrecsam!

I'm not velly good at impressions, certainly not Chinese.
I thought this had legs as far as impressions go.

I would just like to add that I don't think Father Crilly's a racist and neither did the Chinese start Covid.
However I'm not too sure about the dog eating.

They can't drive for shit.

They started covid.

They're hell bent on world domination.

And they eat something called shit ache mushrooms, the dirty bastards.

Nice takeaway food though.

;)

Their government wants to control EVERYTHING, even its overseas citizens.

Guaranteed the moment you set foot in China they know exactly who you are and who you work for. They will almost certainly try to exploit your phone/laptop if they think you are a worthwhile target (big business/tech/finance/military/government).
