There seems to be an absolutely shite load of money being poured in at the moment. Just heard that one of the teams may be after Mourinho now!

Is there more to this than meets the eye? How's about those talks that teams like AC and the Rags (allegedly) have been having with EUFA about getting a wildcard into the CL due to their history - if that happened, it wouldn't be ridiculous to imagine them offering a wildcard entry to a team from a market that will just get bigger. The money men would be all over this. They could make space by limiting countries to only 3 entries?

China is football mad and has some very wealthy individuals indeed since the communist party went in for private enterprise. The BBC pointed out the other day that a handful of players in Europe are the best paid players in the world but below that there are a clutch of players playing in China who earn more than their European counterparts; Asimoah Gyan earns £250000 pw apparently. Ramires didn't play regularly at Chelsea but will in China and will earn much more there as well. Chinese football is developing and we can't yet say how far it will develop, but City have signed the famous agreement to help it develop and we can see that Chinese ambition is sky high. With all the money going into the game there the CFG can do very well indeed in helping develop the game there rather than flogging shirts. The days of the Chinese supporting United never really started - and they never will now.

The cost of a game in China ranges from 25RMB to 100RMB (£2.50 to £10, roughly) - and that is Champions League final prices at the high end... good luck getting a programme. Beer? Good luck. Concessions? Good luck. 18,000 seats and 2 toilets... sounds right for one stand. Ambition is high in China, but so are the number of fake shirts. Every Chinese Super League game gets TV coverage. Few fans travel away, few can afford the prices of flights or time (China is massive). They are reshaping for the future.
