Whilst not doubting this story, I am at a loss as to what the Chinese Govt hoped to accomplish by targeting Barry Gardiner?

Strangely enough she's not being arrested or deported!
Given what appears to be serious allegations what's all that about Jeff?

There are jobs in the civil service or defence sector that aren't accessible to people with dual nationality.

I assume that ban includes people who have acquired nationality of European allies as it doesn't say otherwise and seems to be pretty clear and unequivocal.

Perhaps it is time to have a similar regime for donors of political parties whether that's Russians and Boris or the Chinese and Barry Gardiner.
