Chinese OSCs, Shenzhen Blues + Sun Jihai + Shenzhen Peng City FC

Anyone see the report of Chinese group buying yaya and loaning back to inter to stay within ffp. That would be a very interesting development and hopefully completely ruled to be cheating. However if it isn't money will be even less of an issue, messi to city via nycfc.

MLS has strict salary cap rules which would incidentally prevent them from being used as a conduit like that. So does the A-League for that matter.

So which club are we going to announce a deal with on our tour in China so it becomes part of the City Group?

Japan was fast on the scene; South Korea too. China is a fast-pushing nation, with football already filtering into schools and multiple training centre expansion projects opening every month. They will throw time and effort at it. The US did well in recent years, but China has less red tape, a populous and easy to tap disciplined youthful sporting society. As a fan of football, you can see China exploiting the markets and buying talent, investing in links and coaching. City's Academy coaches were in Dongguan last week (a city between Shenzhen and Guangzhou).

Nice. Yeah my predictions weren't really thought out or anything. With China to be honest, I was somewhat guessing. My prediction for the US was an educated well informed one, but there are a lot of factors like the success of the USMNT which are impossible to predict.

Beijing Guizhou with Sun Jihai?

Shenzhen FC who dropped the name Ruby and are rumoured to be switching from red to sky blue?

Would CFG really buy into a second division side when they can probably acquire a tip-top club equally easily?

There was a lot of talk that they were simply going to form their own team like they did with NYCFC, although that seems a little impractical to me.

If I had to place a bet these would be the ones.
That said Manchester has a large Cantonese community with strong links to Hong Kong so the 2nd smaller Guangzhou team (R&F) would not surprise me in the least

I'm pretty sure Etihad destinations and growth potential mean far more to CFG than diaspora communities who they have little dealings with. Besides, if they wanted to appeal to the Hong Kong links, surely CFG would just buy a HK club?

I'd be in favor of creating a new type team a la NYCFC. Maybe something like Beijing City FC or something.
