Christmas Booze

How does it compare to Jamaican rums? When I see Navy in the title I always think of Navy's Rum - not a fan.
The “Navy“ in the name, comes from the old bonded barrels carried on ships, for sailors to have their daily ration of 95.5% proof rum (54% ABV).
The Wood’s Navy rum, used to be called “Wood’s 100” as in 100% proof, but had to change the name, due to it only being 95.5%

Wood’s is a smooth rum, not as harsh as other of spiced rum’s but at 54.6% ABV is not to be taken lightly.

I might have a gander in my two local stores tomorrow. I assume they’ll all be sold out now it’s being advertised.
I got a couple of bottles from the sale branch . They will be near the tills or on the end of the aisle , its a nice drop . If they don't have any I strongly recommend the chassaux et Fils, costieres de nimes which is also on offer for about one pound more . Its so cheap considering the alcohol duty and VAT is probably close to three pounds.

Thanks, will have a look. They do some amazing value wines.

Like an average vodka with coke or a decent one neat, few Boddies & a quality white Rioja.....oh and a bottle of Sherridans putting the tree up (hic)

One of my favourites :-)
and only £23.00 at Morrisons at the moment. We have a higher tax on alcohol in Wales (bastards) so everything is at least £2.50 more per bottle!
Never thought about that....does an identical £6,99 bottle of spirit from Aldi in Wrexham cost more than the same in Aldi Chester ??
