Christmas eve shooting on Merseyside

True, but a bigger deterrent to me would be 48 years in prison than the death sentence.
Maybe if prison was harsher costs would decrease
The thing is with a prison sentence, people can still make appeals for the sentence to be reduced, so there is still hope. For many hardened criminals, once they know the ropes, prison isnt really a deterrent in the same way it is to people like you and me.

Didsbury..whatever you call yourself you’re being a bit pretentious saying I would be surprised with what you have done, why even bother mentioning it. However we agree on something I am not interesting enough for you to trawl through my old posts so why do you bother. You are a non entity to me what ever you have done with your life who says the same old predictable things over and over again on the politics thread in the guaranteed knowledge you will get a few likes off your cronies who probably don’t even read what you have said. So for the avoidance of doubt I really don’t give a shit what you have done with your life but if the number of posts you do on here are an indication, not much more than spend all your time moaning on here about others.
A lot of words to a non-entity that you don’t give a shit about.
You sound rattled.

Well on the basis I tend to watch programmes where the IQ level required is greater than 10 then your probably right I do.
you’re.
Mr IQ>10.

You’re right about one thing that you’re not interesting.
It does amuse me that I seem to irritate you so much though.
You’d be surprised at my life tbh, but unlike you I’m not so insecure that I feel the need to boast about it.
If you want to post complete bollocks on here that’s up to you but don’t be surprised when people call you out on it.
The only thing that surprises me about you is the thought you think I am remotely interested in your life

Can you two take your spat to PM’s for Christ’s sake
I wouldn’t waste my time with pM’s,but you are correct this has gone way off message.
What ever he posts going forward I will just ignore it as I have done in the past and hopefully the penny will drop.

Absolutely spot on. Decriminalisation is the way forward, but politicians are paralysed with the fear of losing votes, rather than change a perpetually failing policy that is the ludicrous: 'War on Drugs.'

I always have a wry smile on my face when I hear news of 'busts' that have led to the arrest of (place utterly insignificant figure here) men across the Greater Manchester area in dawn raids, and have seized drugs worth (place utterly insignificant figure here), followed by some inane comment by a police spokesperson about how: 'This shows we will never tire in our quest to bring these individuals who blight our streets to justice and blah, blah, blah.' The sole purpose of such 'news' is simply to give the impression that the police have a handle on things, when everybody knows it's just political propaganda.
Exactly right.
If the drug trade was legalised and regulated violent crime would plummet once the dealer networks no longer have a market. Obviously strong legislation would need to be in place to stop people on drugs from being a danger to others, and employers would need to be able to get rid of people who turn up stoned. At the end of the day though, for the softer drugs that are most prevalent, they’re a lot less detrimental to people’s health than alcohol.
Careful regulation and tax on drugs at the same levels as alcohol and tobacco would bring in a huge revenue stream to the Treasury allowing services that help with addiction to be funded properly with plenty left over for other things.
It’s a no brainer that just needs to be messaged right to minimise accusations of the government being soft.
