Even in Madrid they are saying that Tchouameni (the Monaco player) is destined to the PL and he has been linked to us.
If Rice is at £150M, then, of course, no one is touching him.
I don’t agree that we will go for a “cheaper option”, meaning someone that isn’t good enough to constantly be in the starting XI, especially with Fernandinho leaving. Rodri often looks tired from being overplayed, and we overplay him because we can’t rely on Fernandinho too much. We will bring someone that can take over from Rodri or even challenge his starting XI status, that is how Pep’s squads work. He doesn’t sign “cheap backups”, which means he also works with smaller squads

You are equating cheap option for a bad player, this doesn't have to be the case.

I think we will still get a good player, just not somebody that'll be 60-100m, it will probably be a more reasonble 40-50m option, and we will still get a very good player.

I am not equating cheap option for bad player, I am saying a player good enough to walk into our first team will cost money. I think Tchouameni won’t cost as much as you think — and you said yourself the “Madrid bound” cliche which has been debunked.
Anyway, DM talk shouldn’t be in the Nkunku thread

I’ve just not seen much of Nkunku, Haaland’s obviously a different kettle of fish. We’ve obviously bought well from the Bundesliga in general.
